Anybody catch this last night? Jimi Hendrix must have been phenomenal, much better than I thought !! He went and jammed with Cream on stage and blew them away in about 1967/68!! The man was an absolute genius and of course he took on the mantle of a couple of other tracks and revolutionised them e.g. All Along The Watchtower by Bob Dylan and Hey Joe as well !!

and don't forget the star spangled banner!

the man was without question the best guitar player the world has ever and probably will ever see

I'm not a big Hendrix fan but you can't argue with the effect he had on music

I am looking forward to seeing the rest of this series although I might give next week a miss with Bowie, Genesis and roxy music!

although with the likes of The Clash, Pistols, Ramones, Buzzcocks Husker Du and the mighty Black Flag (a band which although massive in the underground punk seen changed the face of music in America and don't get the credit they deserve) but they don't mention Minor Threat or Bad Brains which will be a shocker if you ask me!! should be a quality series

Yes should be, although I'd love them to have done a section on Post-Punk - my favourite genre of music as anything goes basically !! Will definitely look forward to seeing Pink Floyd and David Bowie. Am planning to buy greatest hits of Rolling Stones today now as a result of last nights show as never normally rated The Stones - until last night that is!!

Yeah, watched the whole show. Excellent. Really good from start to finish. Didn't pull any punches and I saw some stuff I hadn't seen before (interviews with Jimi and Townsend). Looking forward to the next 6 shows, especially the one on Punk. Hopefully it will be out as a DVD after the series.

Now we are talking. Steve Albini IS god.

that was Big Black!!

but yes songs about f**king was a classic!!

Black Flag was the first second Henry Rollins band (how could I forget SOA on by favourite label Dischord) Damaged being one of the best early 80's punk albums
