Daggers Posted 21 May 2007 Posted 21 May 2007 Message from Michelle Lineker:"Come and join thousands of cyclists across Britain having fun and getting fit in the fight against leukaemia! By saddling up and getting sponsored to complete your local Bikeathon, you are part of our nationwide effort to save lives." As you probably remember, I did a piddly 26 mile ride last year and raised sixty eight quid...this year I'm doing a load of events but just using one online form to collect for Leukaemia Research from the lot of them.If you fancy joining in any of the cycling, walking or running events then you can find details hereIf you can sponsor me to the tune of a quid you'll find rewards in heaven Click on the image below to go to the sponsorship page. Thanks, Dave.
Daggers Posted 21 May 2007 Author Posted 21 May 2007 I'm aching a bit from yesterday's 57mile exertion - from the sound of Thracians match report I think I put in a bit more effort than some of our young'uns
Leicfox Posted 21 May 2007 Posted 21 May 2007 I was just about to sponsor you Lemond, but it seems we cant pay by paypal ? Well done anyway, i respect what your doing for charity. Good on ya.
Daggers Posted 21 May 2007 Author Posted 21 May 2007 I was just about to sponsor you Lemond, but it seems we cant pay by paypal ?Well done anyway, i respect what your doing for charity. Good on ya. Make no bones about it - I'm doing the cycling because I'm a fat bastard and I'm in the process of getting fit again...there's no way that this is going to get me into heaven - far to many cons on the pro/con list! I signed up for it last year though and got some cash in, so I thought it couldn't hurt to do it again. I always contend that actually doing something is better than charity stunts like this - and that's why I volunteer for MIND, St.Mungo's and Shelter.
James. Posted 21 May 2007 Posted 21 May 2007 You don't like Lost, I disagree with some of your political views, you're a bit harsh on Ultra sometimes ( ) but goddam it Dave I've gone and sponsored you anyway. A very worthwhile cause. So £20 is yours. Although if you vomit, fall off or die during any of the rides I would like a full refund. Thank you and good luck.
Daggers Posted 21 May 2007 Author Posted 21 May 2007 Hell - even I disagree with some of my political views! Cheers JTB, a true gentleman and a scholar
James. Posted 21 May 2007 Posted 21 May 2007 Already 23.5% of target achieved Dave. Not a bad day's work.

Daggers Posted 24 June 2007 Author Posted 24 June 2007 That's the next one done - 52 miles on the Great Notts Bike Ride today. I got a medal, it was meant to be for completing the route but I feel it was deserved for suffering the morons on mountain bikes with all the sense of direction of my wife with a map. Next weekend - 67 miles on the Brum to Oxford...who's coming?
