Father Ted Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 Looks as though we have missed out with many reports stating that Healy is going to Fulham after Leeds are out of admin. He will team up with Lawrie Sanchez. Daily Mail Tribal Football Fulham Web, etc.
Manwell Pablo Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 Looks as though we have missed out with many reports stating that Healy is going to Fulham after Leeds are out of admin. He will team up with Lawrie Sanchez. Daily Mail Tribal Football Fulham Web, etc. Not suprising really, Sanchez has been bitching about him being good enough to play in the Premier League for ages.
lcfc_jme Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 Would come as no surprise to me. Fulham will be looking to strengthen, Leeds are unable to pay his wages in admin and League One, and he wants to play Premiership football himself. He'll be one of the better players there as well. And the Northern Ireland connection will be an important factor.
Tubes Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 i was really hoping he would be pulling on a leicester shirt next season
Simi Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 Why is he leaving after Leeds are out of administration? Am I missing something or isn't it more wise to sell players whilst in administration.
Father Ted Posted 27 May 2007 Author Posted 27 May 2007 Why is he leaving after Leeds are out of administration? Am I missing something or isn't it more wise to sell players whilst in administration. I think its got something to do with rules and paperwork which they CAN'T do until they are out of admin.
Mort Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 I honestly don’t think he’s that good… he’s a decent enough striker, but he just struck me both as a player who “turns it on†when he puts on his national team’s shirt and who’s currently “flavour of the month†because of a few good performances (like Eastwood, Varney, Easter, Sharp etc… not that these are bad players (better than anything we have by some distance) and Sharp’s been pretty consistent, but they have all suddenly become very fashionable). If he goes to Fulham, that with Sanchez as a manager was always the most likley club he'd end up at I think he'll do ok... but i cant see him setting the world alight, he's a good championship striker, but from what i've seen nothing more.

What you've said could be true about playing well at National level and not club level. It may also be a personal bond he has with Sanchez that just brings the best out of him. Wise doesn't really strike me as the best man manager there has ever been.
lildave3 Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 I said it as soon as Sanchez was appointed that this would happen. Not sure if he's good enough but I suppose there's only one way to find out
lookwhaticando Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 Lazy journalism, I'd assume. Dirty Sanchez made a big play about Healy being good enough to be compared to Pele... or at least to get out of the Championship... Dirty Sanchez then gets himself a club job and bingo, the story just fabricates itself. There'll probably be some truth in it - eventually. Just not right this minute, one would assume. After all, he's only been in the job a few weeks.
The Reverend Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 He's a good player but international games do seem to get the best out of him really. Though i suppose he could blame his team mates this season for sheeeeeeite service?! Not sure hes good enough for the prem though.

Spot on, absolutely spot on.... I'm a Leeds United supporter and if you miss out on Healy it wont be a disaster for you unless you want a player who only raises his game for big matches or matches on the tv. You would be better going for Cresswell if you can keep him fit. Good luck next season guys...

Healy really musnt be rated though if we are bein told to get Cresswell in front if him.
graydan Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 Christ, a decent Leeds fan? theres quite a few of us, we just get bad press..... Cresswell did ok for us, infact id like to keep him if we could, the problem i had with cressy was the fact he always seemed knackered, maybe that was just his thing, I seem remember Chris Waddle always looked the same.... Weve also released Ian Moore which i was surprised with, Moore was a tryer, always gave 100% and for me you cant ask for much more (no pun intended) in a player. I think Martin Allen will do a decent job for you, big stadium and fan base likes your deserves better than where you finished last season, do you think he could take you all the way to the Prem?

I don't think you need much help from the press to be fair plenty of your fans do the work for them

Ultra Posted 28 May 2007 Posted 28 May 2007 Cheers. Once your chairman goes (hopefully as soon as this week) and takes the manager with him your club might start to build a bit of respect again. Especially if you can help keep the trees in that league for ANOTHER season...
Fez of Mahrez Posted 28 May 2007 Posted 28 May 2007 Come back! Come back! Help me in my argument about Kishishev!
