The Stig Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 The Walkers is 5 this month, so what is your favourite memory of the last 5 years, my personally is when Nalis scored against Leeds. I was watching him beofre he got the ball and thinking he's in a great position to shoot, and he did and it felt so good when it went in!
The Stig Posted 3 July 2007 Author Posted 3 July 2007 Cada's goal was a good one, I missed the Brighton match as I was on holiday
Scow Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 The Skills dragback to set up Gudjonsson vs Hull. Exquisite.
Mikey Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 Beating Leeds 4-0 and especially Nalis's goal. Second, will be Cadders goal V Fulham.
Thracian Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 The Skills dragback to set up Gudjonsson vs Hull.Exquisite. I'd had a few pints of Barbar's that day and couldn't believe I'd really seen that until I read about it again on here! Truly memorable. For me the comeback against Spurs.
Tommeh Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 Brighton - The game that clinched promotion. Hignett's last minute goal v Arsenal Olivier Bernard taking one from his own player and was about ko'ed Nalis's corker V Leeds Joey's halfway line beaut against Hull MDV shinning one in, in the last minute past paul Robinson Henderson's last minute penalty save against villa Cademateri's last minute equaliser against Fulham with one steward saying to another " here they go again" reffering to the crowd going ballistic. Fryatt's equaliser against Derby Many highlights maybe not quite 5 years worth but hopefully it will feel more like home (as many imo are still stuck in the past and finding it hard to accept filbo is gone) and become more intimerdating for away teams by it's 10th birthday
City Lad Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 When we beat Derby 3-1 in our first year at the Walkers, great day
Scow Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 Olivier Bernard taking one from his own player and was about ko'ed I thought it was Lauren Robert on the end of a wayward (or intentional ) clearance.
dandannieldanok Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 Leeds 4-0, made even better by the fact I went with all my mates because it was my birthday. Spurs 3-2, such a great game in a disasterous season.
Tommeh Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 I thought it was Lauren Robert on the end of a wayward (or intentional ) clearance. Here Robert boomed it, Bernard took it
Chairman of the Bored Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 I reckon the first league game versus Watford took some beating. 2-0, a full house and a great welcome to a new home. Thereafter: Spurs comeback Leeds 4-0 Gudjohnson goal vs Hull and dare I say it? Chris Brunt's goal for Sheff Weds last season. Ouch.
Scow Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 HereRobert boomed it, Bernard took it Oh yeah, fuc king shite memory.
Jack Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 Hignett equaliser Vs. Arsenal Gudjonsson half way line Goal Vs. Hull Nalis volley and 4-0 win Vs. Leeds And dare i say it Van Nistelrooy's hat trick
Benji Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 And dare i say it Van Nistelrooy's hat trick That's a great shout, i have to admit to being happy to have witnessed that, it was the first time i saw him play for real and he was just immense Others are the usual, hignett equaliser and nalis stormer. The only one i remember not mentioned yet is the friendly with Barcalona; i remember Ronaldinho was booed when he started post the world cup shot/cross. He only play a half but it was enough to earn a fair ovation, many standing. It's just great to watch the best play the way they can. I'm dissappointed henry didnt play in the game that hignett equalised, i never had a chance to see him play live.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 City v Millwall 02/03 - Stevie Claridge gets the opener, a ground full of "Dennis Wise, what a willy puller" chants, and the man suffers a humiliating defeat. City v Hull 05/06 - Peter Taylor's return to Leicester (I believe), and two fantastic goals from Joey Gudjonsson. City v Villa 06/07 - The celebration in the kop after Paul Henderson's penalty save will forever be engraved in my mind. Who cares about the final result?
Mr Happy Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 Brighton - The game that clinched promotion.Hignett's last minute goal v Arsenal Olivier Bernard taking one from his own player and was about ko'ed Nalis's corker V Leeds Joey's halfway line beaut against Hull MDV shinning one in, in the last minute past paul Robinson Henderson's last minute penalty save against villa Cademateri's last minute equaliser against Fulham with one steward saying to another " here they go again" reffering to the crowd going ballistic. Just for the fact that the whole of city's fans were on superb form in the second half and it really made a difference in the teams attitude towards the second half of the game.... Then it inspired the team to win two away games and stay in englands second division for another season
Joe. Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 Easy: 4-0 win over Leeds. Lilian That goal from Joey Hignett's vs Arsenal. The look on their fans faces was absolutely priceless Villa last season. Cada's vs Fulham. We all went mental And best of all, the Spurs game. Best game ever at the Walkers
City_4_Life Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 Considering it has only been five years there have been alot of good memories. Obviously the win againts Leeds was brilliant for a number of reasons. It was our first win in the Premiership for that season, It was a big win againts Leeds, and of course that goal from Nalis. Also in the same season i will always remember Hignett againts Arsenal. Beating Milwall 4-1 was great, and so was when we beat Derby 3-1, also when we beat Forest 1-0 from a Tommy Wright goal. Joey's goal was great to watch. MDV's and Cadamarteri's cup goals againts Spurs and Fulham, and the Cup game againts Villa was all in all brilliant. Also what was a good memorie for me was the second half atmosphere againts Brum last season, just show what the Walkers can be like when we try. There have also been alot more memories in the last five years good and bad at the Walkers that i aint mentioned.
Maybes Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 Cada's against fulham. Hignetts against arsenal. Favourite memory: When we were 3 up against sheff utd they pulled two back to make it a tense ending. Then in the dying minutes super kevin pressman pulled of a wonder save to prevent the equaliser.
Tevez Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 When we beat spurs or when Fryatt scored after 10 seconds against Preston.
