davieG Posted 15 February 2005 Posted 15 February 2005 February 15, 2005 By Gary Jacob COVENTRY CITY are trying to sign Dion Dublin for the third time since the summer. The forward could not reach an agreement with his former club in November, having chosen to join Leicester City during the close season, but Micky Adams, the Coventry manager who signed Dublin when he was in charge at Leicester, hopes that the forward will be the first of four arrivals to help the club to avoid relegation. Coventry have lost their past five league matches and are two points outside the relegation zone. Dublin spent four years with Coventry in the 1990s, scoring 72 goals in 171 matches. James Scowcroft has joined Ipswich Town from Leicester on loan until the end of the season. The forward spent seven years with Ipswich before leaving in a £3 million deal four years ago. “I’ve told James, ‘Hey, you’ve got to start scoring goals if you want to come back in the summer’,†Joe Royle, the Ipswich manager, said.
Fox 4 Life Posted 15 February 2005 Posted 15 February 2005 Well Scowy wont be going back to Ipswich in the summer then!!!
Fox 4 Life Posted 15 February 2005 Posted 15 February 2005 me either but i would want someone else to be brought in, i no all the players leaving are shit neway but we still need a decent squad size as injuries do happen!!
Scow Posted 15 February 2005 Posted 15 February 2005 If Dublin goes, then we'll only have Heath, Dabizas and Stearman as centrebacks...
Guest Daniel Posted 15 February 2005 Posted 15 February 2005 I don't like Dublin at all but like Scowy said we havn't got many centrebacks left, unless CL has his eyes on some...
Mark Posted 15 February 2005 Posted 15 February 2005 If Dublin goes, then we'll only have Heath, Dabizas and Stearman as centrebacks... 66950[/snapback] Well if that means Stearman gets a chance, i'd be happy for us to only have them 3. Defenders are obviously on Craigs shopping list, and i'm sure he'll go and get 1 if not 2 defenders in on loan by the end of this month anyway, more so if Dublin goes, please go

He looks like he's the first choice backup now for right-back and might well be for the centre-back position as well I wouldn't let Dublin go before we've got cover...
