dandannieldanok Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 Any dare bet against Tiger? EDIT: This is not a sweepstake, it's a discussion thread!!!
Ultra Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 Just set a competition up. Shame some folk put threads in the wrong forum..
lookwhaticando Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 Just set a competition up.Shame some folk put threads in the wrong forum.. The intention of this topic wasn't to form a sweepstake/prediction topic, just a general discussion of things, one would assume. While we're on the subject, it's amazing what kind of stuff passes off as a 'competition' these days.

Lichfieldfox. Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 Carnoustie is a fantastic course but a dump of a place. I played all 3 courses there last September and loved every minute (even scoring 8 on the famous 18th to cock up and finish 8 over par). Its an intimidating final few holes and recommend every golfer to make the trip.
Geo V Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 Ive backed Justin Leonard and Davis Love at 125/1 eac h for a bit of fun on Betfair with the hope that they start well and then I`ll lay them to guarantee a tidy profit.
Head Honcho Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 I've just done a tenner on Sergio Garcia at 33/1.
NorthernFox Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 Gut feeling for Rose & Westwood each way. Worth a small dibble.
Geo V Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 Gut feeling for Rose & Westwood each way.Worth a small dibble. Yeah there is loads of value in these events if betting in running but it all depends on the start that they have. I suppose if we were proper gamblers we would wait for the waether conditions and tcheck tee-off times before doing our knads gambling .
dandannieldanok Posted 19 July 2007 Author Posted 19 July 2007 Woods has been superb so far. There's a surpise........ ......no seriously, Woods usually plays his poorest golf in the first round, this is very ominous for the rest of the golfers.
Milky Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 There's a surpise..............no seriously, Woods usually plays his poorest golf in the first round, this is very ominous for the rest of the golfers. Exactly, and he's shaved the hole a few times aswell.
dandannieldanok Posted 19 July 2007 Author Posted 19 July 2007 Tiger is having his customary early wobble.
David Villa Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 I wonder what the odds were on K.J Choi on eachway?
Geo V Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 Good old troubled Jon Daly!! Gets to 5 under then goes into what we call in the poker world as tilt mode, losing his head and has managed two double bogeys on the trot and looks set to lose it completely . Didn't his Mrs try to stab him a month or so back?? This could get ugly....
Head Honcho Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 I've just done a tenner on Sergio Garcia at 33/1. I'm happy with my bet so far. He's only 6/1 now but early days. Hopefully his early start today will help him stretch his lead and put a bit more pressure on the rest.
Ric Flair Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 I've just done a tenner on Sergio Garcia at 33/1. Spot on there kid. Garcia is incredibly straight when he's playing well and his iron play is phenomenal. His main issues are usually with the putter, so if he can keep his putting ticking over then he could absolutely smash this course to pieces. He's a man with a score to settle after his hack at Carnoustie back in 1999. He was 24 shots better off this time round after just one round, unreal.
dandannieldanok Posted 20 July 2007 Author Posted 20 July 2007 Tougher today, Garcia is holding it together pretty solidly. Tiger's on the first tee now.............
dandannieldanok Posted 20 July 2007 Author Posted 20 July 2007 ........and he's plopped it straight out of bounds into the stream  Garcia finishes with a comfortable 71 to stay -6.
Geo V Posted 20 July 2007 Posted 20 July 2007 My bets looked doomed as Davis Love and Leonard are all over the shop. Then again, so it Tiger!

Well I'm not counting the cash just yet but at least I'll have a good run for my money whatever happens.
Geo V Posted 21 July 2007 Posted 21 July 2007 What a prat that clown dressed Ian Poulter is. I dont know why he has gotten on my nerves over the last couple of years but I suppose it has got to do with him being a sportsman who isnt that famous for his profession but more for his dress sense. However, he is a decent player and has shown some great touches and today he was 5 under for his round and then fooked up and for the last 15 mins Ive seen him capitulate and donate 4 shots in such an unprofessional manner that its almost hard to watch. Swinging from the tie and dropping his club, hitting it in the bushes. He has completely gone all because he had ONE BAD hole. The funniest bit was when he hit a shot into the heavy rough and as he played his sceond shot, one of the fans said "well done" on contact but when it landed in some more heavy stuff Poulter turned around to say "That was good was it?" and gave him a dirty look!!! From there he has lost the plot

From there he has lost the plot Couldn't agree more, just looked like he gave up. Everyone has finished their 3rd rounds now with Garcia, who held his round together superbly, leading by 3 ahead of the also brilliant Steve Stricker. Woods is still lurking but I can't see him catching the lead.
