Fez of Mahrez Posted 21 August 2007 Posted 21 August 2007 BBC Gossip column Derby boss Billy Davies is ready to make a shock move for Portsmouth striker David Nugent. (Daily Mirror) New Newcastle owner Mike Ashley is ready to sell the club to an Icelandic entrepeneur, just two months after taking over. (The Times) Former Hull owner Adam Pearson is planning a shock £30m takeover of Leeds. (Daily Mirror) Germany's players hope to take 'revenge' for England's 5-1 World Cup qualifying win in Munich five years ago in Wednesday's friendly. (Daily Mirror) Under-fire ref Rob Styles is on the board of the firm which paved the driveway of Chelsea's billionaire owner Roman Abramovich - although referees' chiefs have cleared him of any conflict of interest. (Various) --- Which do you think is the most ridiculous? I can't decide between the Nugent one, Pebbledashgate or the ludicrous idea of a team gaining "revenge" for a 5-1 home defeat in a World Cup qualifier by winning a meaningless friendly five years later even though they got to the final of the World Cup in question anyway. Actually, it's definitely the last one.

Didn't they also win the last game played at Wembley The German one is just to try and generate interest in the game where as the Nugent one is a top fairy story if ever I've heard one.
