Rodgers, formerly academy director at Reading, moves up after acting as youth team coach at Stamford Bridge for the last two years. "It is my job to work closely with Jose Mourinho and to support him and the first team," said the 33-year-old. "It is also important to understand the youth sides and to be the link between the academy and the first team." I hope he can progress in his career. He is a good lad Jose Mourinho Rodgers admits he thrives on his work and envisages being the number one himself some day. Lillehamring Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 With Glen roeder as director of football.Reoder said when asked on soccer saturday if there was anything in the leicestre rumours and he said: "nothing is happening YET" god, no! he's not even formally qualified to manage yet, is he?
Flynny Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 Doesn't sound too bad, actually. Not as good as Allen, but decent.
Karlos Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 It'd restore some faith in Milan.....but only about 50%
weggy1976 Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 The ONE plus point on Rodgers as an appointment would be his contacts at Chelsea......and getting "loan" players from them! Shevchenko to get match fitness.......here's hoping
Geo V Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 Steve McLaren. Enough example that coaches dont always make the best managers. If we go for a complete unknown I`d be totally shocked and disappointed. Once again, I`ll back MM`s decision but it wouldn't be my first choice, far from it.

This guy seems a bit of an Aidy Boothroyd. There's no way Mourinho would rate him so highly if he was crap.
Wooly Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 Why would we want to hire anyone after Beaglehole gives us a masterclass in attacking football, as championed by Thracian for the past two years?
Sir Fynwy Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 god, no!he's not even formally qualified to manage yet, is he? Roeder confirmed during the infamous tv appearance at the weekend that he has now got his pro license, still doesn't make him a good manager though.

Im not saying he is crap because before today I hadnt even heard of him never mind rated him but I would have thought that this type of appointment wouldnt be able to attarct any better quality player to us than MA managed. The pain plus is we may get some Chelsea kids on loan Here is a pic of him with Robbie Savage.
Lillehamring Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 Roeder confirmed during the infamous tv appearance at the weekend that he has now got his pro license, still doesn't make him a good manager though. ...now they're talking of him as directer of football :w00t: :w00t:
