As for Connolly, he's 27, and should hopefully be hitting his peak soon, and we have him for another two years, should Levein decide to retain him. He's already proved he's a more than able goalscorer in this division with Wimbledon, and has scored 11 goals this season, despite the shite he's been playing with. Campbell is on his way out.
Chandler Posted 22 April 2005 Posted 22 April 2005 How many of you young 'uns know that he virtually started his career with us? He was on loan to us from Arsenal in the early '90's and was very popular @ Filbo. It would be nice for him to 'book end' his career at City. Think he might make an impression in The Championship. Which is more than could be said for a recent acquisition whose initials read (appropriately) like a minor league trophy.

He did start his career here. David Pleat took him on Loan from the Arsenal and he was popular with the fans. Pleat took him on the understanding that we would not make the deal permanent

Remember he scored in that 4-3 victory against Leeds when we were 2-0 down at half time and Rambo came on, scored two belters, before Strachan made it 3-2 with a penalty with no run up. Gary Mac got the winner for us at the end. Fantastic game. I can only think of Steve Moran but he wasn't on loan.
Wellman Posted 22 April 2005 Posted 22 April 2005 yea i dont want campbell, connally all the way 481[/snapback] we all make mistakes
filbertway Posted 22 April 2005 Posted 22 April 2005 I still think connolly was the better future investment.
