Forest Match ratings

Gonna have a crak at a few of these:

Fulop: 8 Top class saves, safe as houses

N'Gotty: 5 Looked laboured all night, and this showed in his poor distribution. Two games a week looks a stretch these days. Would prefer to see CHambers there, and N'Gotty in the mix at Centre Back only

Kisnorbo: 6.5 Solid enough, but both centre backs struggled with quick balls behind them on the floor, with the Forest front two so pacey

McAuley: 6. Caught for Tyson's goal, as much caught mentally napping as for pace.

Mattock 7 Very solid, hopefully going to be a good player for us for a number of years with a bit more experience.

Sheehan: 7.5 Class free-kick, combined well with Mattock esp in first half. Faded in the second. Prefer him at LM not LB

Clemence: 7.5 Fine leadership, excellent winner. Not the most creative, but I dare say Megson won't require that

Wesolowski : unrated: Quiet game pre-injury

Hume: 6.5 Wasted wide right, lets pick one of Campbell and Hume alongside the target man and play a genuine right sided midfielder in this spot please

De Vries: 6 Incapable of holding the ball up, often outmuscled too which was disappointing. Kepp going though, and looked far better alongside Fryatt who did hold the ball up and allowed MdeV to playa different role

Campbell: 5 Disappointing, not much went his way

Subs

Chambers: 7 Did a manful job alongside Clemence. Very fit, very pacey as shown by his excellent right side run leading to Starman's goal. Would like to see him at right back, with Kaebi in front. That would cause a few headaches in this division!

Fryatt: 7 Looked motivated, held the ball up well. A telling contribution

Steaman: 7 Got into a postion to score which N'Gotty would never have done. For this you have to say it was a great substitution. Always tries to distribute well too, this made a difference

I have just spent an enjoyable 15 minutes reading all the player ratings and I thank everyone who has bothered to input

It is great to have some honesty and for those of us who cannot get to many games, an invaluable resource.

One thing stands out though, and I am well chuffed about it, is Matt Fryatt's average of about 8.

I have always defended him and know many don't like him from previous threads, but I am made up.

Nice one, Matty

Matty came on and the ball seemed to stay up front long enough to build attacks unlike before when it just kept coming back at us.

Fulop - 8 - Fantastic save, outstanding again, could of done better for there goal.

N Gotty - 6 - Not his best game, some sloppy balls.

Kisnorbo - 7 - Solid again

McAuley - 7 - I think it was him at fault for Tysons goal.

Mattock - 6 - Thrown in at the deep end somewhat, coped well.

Hume - 7 - Showed good energy when we most needed it.

Clemence - 8 - Captains performance, capped off with the winner :D

Weso - 6 - Did well I thought until he was injured again :(

Sheehan - 7 - Great free kick, few good crosses as well.

De Vries - 6 - Probably his worst performance this season, seemed tired early on.

Campbell - 5.5 - In the right place again, but he does frustrate.

Subs

Chambers - 7 - Considering his position I thought he was very good.

Fryatt - Offered us something different, linked up well with Clem.

Stearman - Goal :D

The Mercury Has given Fryatt a 5 out of 10! :o:rolleyes:

Quite unbelievable I agree, the guy didn't misplace a pass and his link-up/hold-up play has shown up all of our strikers. He clamied a good assist on Stearman's goal and played in de Vries nicely who then in turn was able to set up Clemence.

saw the goals on SSN last night and to be honest, i wouldn't give our defenders such high marks

for their 1st goal nobody seemed to make a tackle

he seemed to just 'walk through' the lot of them.

Fulop - 8 (Commanding. Best keeper since Flowers!)

N'Gotty - 5 (Definetly a Central Defender playing Right Back. His distribution was shocking again last night. He rarely links up going forward, and looks uncomfortable when he does. Chambers must be fiirst choice full-back if we are serious about winning fottball matces!)

Mattock - 6 (Steady preformance from the youngster. Still a little early for him, but he did his job)

McCauley - 5 (Was very disappointed in the usually reliable Centre Back. Tyson was just too good for him last night)

Kisnorbo - 7.5 (Another master-class from the Aussie)

Hume - 6.5 (Out of position, but as usuall gave 100%. Would like to see him down the middle again)

Wesolwoski - 7 (Has been our best player this season, and was once again dominating in midfiled until his untimely injry)

Clemence - 7 (A mixed bag from Clemo, ut the goal pushed him up to 7)

De Vries - 5.5 (A poor second half, pushes his mark down)

Campbell - 3 (Can we swap him for Tyson. He's supposed to be quick but was out paced twice by their centre halves. Not strong enough. Brainless runs, terrible first touch. Not worth the money we paid, and I'm increasingly worried)

Sheehan - 8 (Best game in a City shirt)

SUBS:

Chambers - 7.5 (Out of position but is a great athlete who was instrumental in some of our better attacking moves last night. His movement into space off the ball, creating room for others)

Fryatt - 8 (Campbell would do well to learn from his technique. His presence changed the game in our favour).

Stearman - 6.5 (Still not convincing defensively, but got up the filed well to score his goal)

LEICESTER CITY F.C. - 10 (Very proud to be associated with the club today!)

You missed one out - Barber 3 Call himself a commentator? Did you hear him on the first goaL?

Ta. :)

Got a mate who met him in a pub recently. Lazy and arrogant as f***, loved himself, gob on a stick. Everybody at RL loves him too - sort of Dennis Wise character that can start an argument on his own.

and yes, he is a Derby fan and lives in Nottingham...

de vries was awful not a bit of passion

What. A. Cock. Did you not see the sheer delight that he displayed when we scored our goals? Or were you not there, meaning you're less passionate than that awful fooking donkey??

I felt de Vries had a good game yesterday, if I'm honest. He certainly gave us something we were lacking in the first tie against them in the fact that he managed to hold the ball up well and caused problems physically for their defence that Hume and Campbell couldn't do last time. His partnership with Fryatt looked bloody good, as well.

DeVries might not have been at his best apart from his assist but he never stopped competing and trying to make something happen.

He was up against a tough opponent on the night who did all he could to deny him time and space and who competed physically for every ball.

In the end DeVries had the last laugh and deserves credit for that and for not giving up.

You only had to watch him when he ran to the City fans afterwards to plainly see that he had passion and the result meant something.

And you're right. He did seem to revive a bit when Fryatt came on. As did the rest of the team.

Sorry, am I the only one who thought De Vries had a blinder?!

Once again he played a HUGE part in our last 2 goals. He did brilliantly on the second one especially.

Whenever he doesn't play, we miss him.

He doesn't score a lot, but against Watford and Forest he has played a big part in at least 4 of the goals.

He has done a hell of a lot more than DJ, Cort etc. He completely deserves his place alongside Hume.

Can't really argue with that. But some will. They don't like him. And when some fans don't like someone - and thankfully it is only a few - they won't see anything good in them whatever.
