Steven Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 Seeing the French and Irish rugby union players belt out their respective anthems, some in tears, has moved me sufficiently to create this topic.Personally I think there is no finer sound in world sport than that of the Welsh national anthem prior to Six Nations games in Cardiff. And the English national anthem should not be God Save The Queen. Thoughts? Couldn't agree more. I think they are great anthems and that we deserve something better than "God save the Queen".
Sparky Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 had this debate on foxestalk several times , for me jeruselem stands out
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 Our anthem is a bit too religious for my liking. Should be Jerusalem !!!!
stez Posted 22 September 2007 Posted 22 September 2007 Should be Jerusalem !!!! yeah cos that's a lot less religious, you know, being a hymn and all.
