Ric Flair Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Very true.I have supported the appointment of GM from day one as it was MM's decision and he is our chairman. These people who have started moaning and lambasting MM are not true fans!!! If Taylor was still chairman, we would be in a financial mire now and the summer signings would have consisted of players like Adam Boyd, Sol Davis, Gary Borrowdale etc ie. shite I think DJ will be a good addition eventually, and if not then blame Martin Allen!!!! I'd have both of them here like a shot anyway.
Manwell Pablo Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 I'd have both of them here like a shot anyway. Adam Boyd? As in Leyton Orient play boy Adam Boyd. I mean Gary Borrowdale I could stomach but............him, no way.
filbert way=home Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Someone like Chris Iwelumo was nothing more than a bit of a journeyman forward but managed 20 goals last seen for Colchester which was way and above anywhere near his best seasons tally. In fact I don't think he ever scored double figures in a season prior to last year and he is 29. Its not easy for a striker to get to that mark but you would have thought that a player like DJ who managed 9 in 19 last season but did make quite a few sub appearances. Who knows if he can or cant get 20 if he played most games for us but what I dont get is how he can be written off after a half-decent start. completely aggre mate we dont know if he can he needs to get a good run of games. If he starts getting a few goals and is playing well his confidence will get better and hopefully more goals after that . If hes playing week in week out who knows i dont think even he knows himself
Geo V Posted 27 September 2007 Author Posted 27 September 2007 Surely those who are overreacting are the ones who refuse to hear a word of criticism against Mr. Mandaric? He, after all, is the one who has only been at the club for 8 months and we´ve been useless for half a decade now. Realistically, we are currently not very good and have just dismissed our supposed saviour after 96 days in the job, since then we´ve looked very much as bad as we have in the past 5 or 6 years. Who's getting carried away, exactly? Im not saying we cant have a moan but am saying let people be in the club long enough to show hat they can or cant do before passing judgment. The whole MM thing has been discussed to the hilt so I wont go over it all again but I will say we have a much better squad than we did 8 months ago when he arrived, we have more money to spend, more supporters are coming through the turnstiles and we have a rosier future. The League table isnt good reading for now but the season is just over an 1/8th of the way in and surely we will be in a better position come say January to have an idea on whether we are looking at possible play-offs or another relegation dogfight?
Ric Flair Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Adam Boyd?As in Leyton Orient play boy Adam Boyd. I mean Gary Borrowdale I could stomach but............him, no way. I rate Adam Boyd, not sure what went on with him at Luton but for Hartlepool he was quality and one of the best lower league strikers in the past few seasons. He's more than good enough for this level, especially given some of the players like excel in this division. Boyd has a very good footballing brain, he's better than most of the strikers we have here.
