Bojimha Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 Hi Guys, At 5pm as I was leaving work I got told I needed to be in London for 9am sharp on Monday to go on a 4 day training course (very long story which I wont waste time going into!). I need to leave from Coventry and get to Euston and have been told I will get there in enough time if I get on the 6 - 6:30am train. Problem is I have only been on the train a handful of times and never to London and I don't know where to start looking / booking. It was going to be even more complicated as I need to get to Southwark (Sampson House) but instead of taking a dodgey risk on the undergound from euston to waterloo and then attempting a dodgey walk (using strange directions) I am just gonna hope in a cab from Euston to the place and hope it dont cost too much! Could people point me in the direction of any websites and advise on what type of tickets I will need (leaving to get there before 9am monday and need to get back after 5pm Thursday). I'm very stuck, any help would be greatly appreciated. PS Also i'll be staying in a hotel in Southwark, any things to do around that area would be nice to know too!

Matt Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 I'd suggest going to the Train Station and asking someone, The website's good if you know what your doing, but by the sounds of it your confused and not sure as it is, so go to the train station, talk to someone there to give you advice.
lcfc_jme Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 There is a 6:32AM train from Coventry which gets you into Euston at 7:50AM, though I think you'd be fine gettting the 7AM train, as it will get you into Euston at 8:09AM.. A later alternative (the next train) is the 7:20AM from Coventry, arriving in Euston at 8:39AM. What time are you actually planning on leaving Euston?
Bojimha Posted 6 October 2007 Author Posted 6 October 2007 As long as there is enough time to get from Euston the Southwark before 9am then that is good enough so I guess 8am is the safest bet so it gives me an hour then. I haven't got time to go to the train station today as I am going to chester this afternoon for the night, though I may try tomorrow afternoon when I'm bacj. Would just prefer to sort it sooner so I can relax more tonight knowing it's booked and sorted.

Bojimha Posted 6 October 2007 Author Posted 6 October 2007 Ok guys just booked a single through the trainline (much easier than virgin) leaving at 5:50 and arriving at Euston for 7:10am. Need to be at the place I have training at by 9am which is 2.8 miles away from Euston so I think I will be ok. (Just hope getting a cab from Euston is not too much hassle or pricey!).

Bojimha Posted 7 October 2007 Author Posted 7 October 2007 Won't be any hassle, loads parked up outside, but it will be pricey! Getting one is the main thing really. You got any rough estimate on how much it would cost?
