But you wouldn't have expected Ronaldinho to be playing in Serie A when he'd just started out as a professional football would you??? So why the difference when it comes to Boxers??? My nephew's just passed his plumbing course(he hasn't really,its an example!!) now he's gonna plumb ALL of the New shires all on his own!! I don't want the little bastard learning his trade plumbing houses,he can go straight to the big stuff and if he fcuks up,he can go fcuk off...innit!!!! Let the kid learn his trade then progress thro the ranks!

Well without sounding argumentative, yeah I would Rooney played in The Best League In The World before he was a pro, Messi played for Barca just under 18 etc. I suppose what I'm saying is these were marked as world class individuals, and Khan was sold the same way. Thats not his fault but I am firmly of the belief that if you are good enough you're old enough and the hype led me to believe Khan is good enough. As Manwell pointed out maybe my lack of boxing knowledge has made me compare it too easily to football....

He needs to do exactly what his management are doing and slowly find fighters that will test him that little bit more. I know Khan wants a title fight within the next year but I think that to is too early for him. Im not saying he couldn't win but he is improving with every test so it`ll be better for him to ease his way to a title fight after fighting some more awkward or even stone chinned fighters!

Footballers play once, sometimes even twice a week, Everton broke Rooney in fairly slowley limiting him to subs apperances at first and Bareclona did the same with Messi. Boxers are the same but obviously it takes longer as they only fight 2 or 3 times a year. Also there is one big difference between football and boxing. In football the loser doesn't normally have his head knocked off.
