Guest Posted 28 October 2007 Posted 28 October 2007 Bugger, can't believe we missed you guys. It's probably for the best.
AoWW Posted 28 October 2007 Posted 28 October 2007 It's probably for the best. We're not that bad, in fact we looked quite respectable on the surface.
Suffolk_fox Posted 28 October 2007 Posted 28 October 2007 We're not that bad, in fact we looked quite respectable on the surface. I too think we scrub up quite well to be honest....
davieG Posted 28 October 2007 Posted 28 October 2007 We're not that bad, in fact we looked quite respectable on the surface. Well most of us after all Thracian admits to being a good striker - so ugly by default
Suffolk_fox Posted 28 October 2007 Posted 28 October 2007 Any news on Weso? I presume no news is good news....
Guest Posted 29 October 2007 Posted 29 October 2007 Lisa...in a PUBLIC HOUSE!!!!??? For educational reasons, of course....
Sods Posted 29 October 2007 Posted 29 October 2007 Yeah I did, I stood at the back of F1 as well, but it was still v poor. What 100 People accross the whole of the kop, who were singing different songs at the same time, and the wittiest chant of the day was "DU DU DU Fooking Useless"!!?!?!Like you said congregating would be a good idea but people don't want to move because "They like the seats that they have been in since they moved to the walkers" It really pointed it out to me how wank the match day experience was, we won, but I still came away feeling down-beat. This was after I actually was excited (Only a little bit, albiet) to get to a game. And I had a free ticket. I Feel so dis-jointed from the club recently. Ive sort of resigned from exictement from the atmosphere at home games now. Unless something major happens its always going to be shit. There's a lot of twats as well, not purely on atmosphere wise, just due to the fact they no nothing about football. Truely one of the worst collins john songs ever in the kop as well. I sit down now at home games, il sing and try to do my bit but it just pisses me off when people compain about the atmosphere and dont do anything! Thats why i love the away day experiance. Also theres only oneee gerry taggert onnee gerry taggert.Blimey
bullyboy123 Posted 30 October 2007 Posted 30 October 2007 All i can say is... got the three points but that about all that was good about the performance.
lookwhaticando Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Also a big shout to Thracian, Davie G, Suffolk Fox, LWICD (1st EVER City home game), AOWW, Lisa and Sir Fynwy ( ), all of whom were in the Swan & Rushes! For a random quorum it was quite impressive. Certainly humbling from my point of view - and truly great company. Thanks guys - Really enjoyed the company too. Good to finally meet fellow FTers!!We were in K1, very good atmosphere with plenty of singing and I only sat down at half time! I think Lookydo really enjoyed himself too, and is in danger of being our 'Looky' mascot (see what I did there?). Maybe we should all have a whip round and pay his air fare for every home game.... Thanks to AoWW for organising Lookydo (someone has to!) and for getting my ticket. It was fantastic to meet all of you at the pub before the game. I was hoping to happen upon some FTers and fortunately I did. Gutted to discover I missed a few people - namely Lisa and Daggers, it seems - but hey ho... maybe next time. I had a fantastic time - as mentioned, it was my first city game ever, and I was immensely pleased to have managed to make a game after all these years (12 of 'em). It will most certainly not be my last - with any luck, I'll get another one in this season. Fingers crossed! It wasn't really about the winning for me on Saturday... it was being there. Just watching the game was a great starting point (the last city game I actually watched was Blackburn in the cup a few seasons ago) - actually being there and experiencing the match and the atmosphere (pretty good in K1, I thought) was fantastic. Winning just topped off an absolutely marvellous Saturday afternoon, for me. Thanks to Suffolk for turning up, AOWW for organizing, and for the FTers present at the pub for some great pre- and post-match chatter. Sensational. Special mention to the Pint of Barbar's I enjoyed thanks to Thracian. Very enjoyable beverage. Cheers, Thrac! I too think we rub up quite well to be honest.... Dirty boy!

lookwhaticando Posted 2 November 2007 Posted 2 November 2007 I bet you waited outside for us to leave or something. We had "just" missed you, we were told... so we were just tardy, or you were just very keen to get out of there. Hiding from people isn't my speciality anyway, you'd have seen me.
Kent Fox Posted 2 November 2007 Posted 2 November 2007 Looky's obviously very happy chit chat Forgive my ignorance, LWICD, and for asking this question when it's probably nowt to do with me,but might I ask how come this was your first ever game? Glad you had such a great time though.

Hmm, well it's like this you see... he tries to come across on here as being this big citeh fan and all that malarkey . In reality, he's just never been arsed to get himself into gear and get down the Walkers, you see? Shocking, really.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 2 November 2007 Posted 2 November 2007 Lookydo is to Lestoh what DanBoyFox is to Ireland. And Finnegan is to Wal...
Finnegan Posted 2 November 2007 Posted 2 November 2007 And Finnegan is to Wal... What, born and bred? Pft! Don't get me started.

Born in Leicestershire in '85. In 95, living in Derbyshire, I started getting into football and decided to follow a team - choosing Leicester having been born in the county. Everyone else around me were Derby fans (or Man U fans, naturally). No family or friends supported City, so nobody to go to games with... too young to go it alone, too. In 98 I moved down to Northants where I encountered the same problems again - no fellow city fans, and still nobody to go with... and not quite old/mature enough to go myself. Then, in 2001, I moved to the other side of a huge great big pond... which only compounded the problem. I returned to the UK for the first time last year, but with it being June there was no football to see. It wasn't until just last week that I got back to England during the football season.
AoWW Posted 2 November 2007 Posted 2 November 2007 (For the record, I was only teasing, Lookydo) Me too.
