Floating Fox Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 The steward in E3 was pretty decent as well. No one told us to sit down, banged the back a few times. They seem to be showing signs of leniency Don't count on it mate. When Barclay's boss/SAG guy shows up for games he'll be much strickter. To be honest I can't find much to shout about today apart from the fact that we got 3 points.

I hope you remembered that
Floating Fox Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 Well, you were sitting in the west stand? You're not allowed to shout, stand or breathe in there. I hope you remembered that Don't be daft, I was in F1. Might as well have been in the west stand though
SamL Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 Don't be daft, I was in F1. Might as well have been in the west stand though Ah right . Seem to remember you saying you won tickets & they were in the west stand or something . Good job you moved, you wouldve died a slow painful death in the mighty west stand Theres a few people dotted along the back of the Kop, going from E1 to F1 who actually stand up and sing. If all these people congregated in the same place, it would be quite good. More people might join in with songs. But would be easier for stewards to pick on people Just an idea.
Ultra Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 F1 was OK today! Not a great performance, but we did what was necessary. Bring on Chelsea! Also a big shout to Thracian, Davie G, Suffolk Fox, LWICD (1st EVER City home game), AOWW, Lisa and Sir Fynwy ( ), all of whom were in the Swan & Rushes!

Certainly humbling from my point of view - and truly great company.

Yeah I did, I stood at the back of F1 as well, but it was still v poor. What 100 People accross the whole of the kop, who were singing different songs at the same time, and the wittiest chant of the day was "DU DU DU Fooking Useless"!!?!?! Like you said congregating would be a good idea but people don't want to move because "They like the seats that they have been in since they moved to the walkers" It really pointed it out to me how wank the match day experience was, we won, but I still came away feeling down-beat. This was after I actually was excited (Only a little bit, albiet) to get to a game. And I had a free ticket. I Feel so dis-jointed from the club recently.
Bert Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 Barnsley boss Simon Davey: "It wasn't the best of times to come to Leicester. When a manager leaves you're always looking for a reaction. "When I took over as caretaker last year we won 2-0 against Ipswich and it can inject a fresh impetus. "The supporters and everyone at the club came together and made it a cauldron. They got behind their team and that was a factor." Surely he can't mean us?
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 28 October 2007 Posted 28 October 2007 We probably only won because we're Barnsley's bogey team... when I was a kid we could never beat them, now I think we've beaten them in the last 5 games we've played them on the trot??
Simon Posted 28 October 2007 Posted 28 October 2007 Not a classic game, but once we were 2-0 up we never really looked like losing. We were a different team when Weso went off. Up till then he'd broken up the play very well and distributed it simply but effectively. I still wish he'd try and get forward a bit more, but we really missed him in midfield when he went off. Most frustrating player on the park had to be Shaun Newton- awful in the first half and quality in the second; when he runs at players like that there's not many in this league who can live with him and I really wish he'd do it more often. Chambers and Hume were a little disappointing second half in midfield, but their wing backs didn't help them that much by dropping too deep. I still think Hume can play there- just not without any central midfielders to provide support for him. The defence were rocks, but McAuley and to some extent N'Gotty were poor in their distribution, Kisnorbo was excellent though. John looks class up front, but Fryatt needs to take less touches and get his head up earlier. All in all though a decent afternoon. I'd hardly use Simon Davey's word 'cauldron' but it was certainly a different atmosphere from the last few matches- almost relief you'd say, that Megson had left! One final thing I almost forgot: Fulop is quality.

We were in K1, very good atmosphere with plenty of singing and I only sat down at half time! I think Lookydo really enjoyed himself too, and is in danger of being our 'Looky' mascot (see what I did there?). Maybe we should all have a whip round and pay his air fare for every home game.... Thanks to AoWW for organising Lookydo (someone has to!) and for getting my ticket.
Raj Posted 28 October 2007 Posted 28 October 2007 Thought we played some half decent footie yday and well done to the team for trying to play. Its funny what a change of manager (who can motivate!) d to players minds! I was listeneing to the radio on the way home and people were moaning about us scoring from set pieces!!! FFS We couldnt score at all before,so we cant exactly be fussy can we??? No one moaned in O Neils days when we scored loads from set pieces. Though over all it was a decent performance and a really much aprreciated win for all us fans!!!
Bellend Sebastian Posted 28 October 2007 Posted 28 October 2007 Do you have a haircut with a bit sticking up at the front, Raj?

Guest Posted 28 October 2007 Posted 28 October 2007 I would just like to clarify that whilst I was in The Swan & Rushes, I was in fact in a different area of the establishment enjoying the company of Sir Fynwy and Daggers, and the scintillating conversation, which centred around mobile phones. Oh yes.

Great to meet some fellow FT'ers! For a random quorum it was quite impressive. Certainly humbling from my point of view - and truly great company. A motley crew, by all accounts. We should all meet up more often, me thinks. Thanks guys - Really enjoyed the company too. Thanks to AoWW for organising Lookydo (someone has to!) and for getting my ticket. Eh up, Suffolk... curious to see how us fellow East Anglians travel in packs . Really cool to meet you at last. Oh, and thanks for the thanks - you're welcome. If Lookydoodle could get back sometime in the next 6 years to guarantee us another win, that'd be kinda useful.
