Milan on way back to get his man

by Bill Anderson

Milan Mandaric jets back to England today ready to step up his move for Leicester City's new manager.

After a week's break in California, Mandaric has had his “time to think'' and finally identify his prime target.

He will be looking to accelerate the process in the hope that the new man is in place for Saturday's Championship trip to Bristol City.

That it is not going to be an instant appointment strongly hints at a manager currently with a club rather than someone out of a job. If that is the case, City would have to go through the proper channels.

Coventry's Iain Dowie, Simon Grayson at Blackpool and Plymouth's Ian Holloway have all featured strongly in speculation. Any negotiations would take time but the plan is that it will all be settled in the next couple of days.

It is a case of the sooner the better so that the new man can get to grips with the squad.

But there is no guarantee that City's bid for their target will be successful.

Until they hear otherwise, the caretaker team of Frank Burrows and Gerry Taggart will remain at the helm.

And, if this week's moves fall down, that might have to be the case for a little longer.

Is it just me on this..... Billy boy hasnt actually given us any news or information, All he has done is stated the obvious. I can't believe that the Mockery employ him as the Chief City writer when they could just take snippets from here to create a better back page story.

What a complete waste of time and effort Bill...

EDIT : Also, for a proffesional writer his ability to use one word over & over seems astounding... Case closed.

I think it's a subliminal way to say not only has he, Blanderson not got a clue as to whom the new manager will be nieither does Mandaric.

I'm convinced more than ever that they can't find anyone who wants the job.

I think you're spot on there.

Which is why we will get Mike Newell....

In such a short article, yes. I was never more than a small time journalist working for a freepaper, but I'd be embarressed with that one! TBH never been impressed by the Scots Spurs-lover's writing... he's almost as bad as Mike Polanyk, the entertaiment writer

Let's all whip round and buy Bill a thesaurus! :yesyes:
