The FA....

Bunch of old gits, most have had no experience of football at the highest level.

Lest get this right...Barwick chose McClaren as the England Manager who failed miserably.

Who is is going to choose the NEXT England Manager???

Yes you got it.....Brian Barwick and his fcuking cronies at the FA...

Its a joke and a shambles.

Surely they have to all go...BUT Who has the ability to sack them???

This is the one chance for the whole structure of English Football to change for the better...Will it???

Will it fcuk..

Will the FA Get the right manager next time???

Will they fcuk.

Will anyone at the FA resign?/

Will they fcuk....

And McClaren fails in his job and walks away with £1 million in compensation..

The players fail to qualify and also get £200k as a gesture...

Yeah nice one!!!

From my understanding of it the problems with the FA are that it's remit is too wide ranging from primary schools football to the management of the England football team and everything in between and is run more or less in the same style as it did in the days of amateur football; this is exacerbated by it's limited influence since the rise in power of UEFA and FIFA as well as the creation of the Premier League.

We need more than just a change at the top we need to rethink how the game is controlled, it's virtually impossible for the FA to provide an even hand to basic amateur football, top level professional football and the England team management.

They have very little if any influence over the Premier League who themselves proclaimed that it's creation would lead to a more successful professional England set up and yet seem to do everything in their power to obstruct the smooth running of the England football team with their constant gripes about too many games, compensation etc.

Given that the England team is made up of players from the Premier League maybe there is some way then can taken on the role of England Team management they would then be forced, by public demand to get the balance right between having a successful Premier League alongside a successful England team also I'm fairly sure that attendances at league games does increase on the back of a successful England Team - Not sure about this idea because the Premier league itself is unbalance and tipped towards the Champions League qualifiers.

Oh wel I'm bored of this now!

For the first time last night in the pub I actually considered the possabilty of moving out of this country permantley. There were plenty of people who were quite cleary deluded last night, predicting 3-0 wins, shouting shoot at the screen when Steven Gerrard was 45 yards out etc etc. Which is annoying but normal

But after the game I couldn't believe my ears in the blokes loo, some bright spark had decided the reason we lost to Croatia was because England is full of Pakis, Russians ( ) and Pols. ****.

Truth is there are lots of foreign-born people who are becoming English nationals now and the more people you have to choose from then, theoretically, the easier it should be to put together a decent side.

Instead, England had a few injuries and the side looked collectively appalling last night. We simply didn't have enough quality replacements to call on.

Why? Well one reason is emphasised by the many people who think the huge influx of poor or average quality foreign players into our game is restricting the development of home grown talent and from what I've seen at Leicester this season I can well understand that view.

I fail to see that we couldn't have found English-based players who were every bit as good as Kaebi, Ferreira, Hellings and Djiziri. People might say, so what, they've not been in the first team. But they have taken the places of signings who could and should have been pushing for the first team.

I don't think it would be fair at this stage to say they've occupied places that might have been taken by up-and-coming Academy scholars because I don't think there are any waiting to come through who haven't been used at reserve level and certainly none that would be pushing for a first team slot. Indeed I think the scholars have been utilised extremely well at City since the close season.

Levi Porter, Jon Hayes, Andy King and Ryan Beswick have been injured and I doubt City would have wanted to overplay Ashley Chambers at this stage after the long term injury he suffered. Plus Dodds, Odhiambo and Gradel were out on loan.

And though that situation may change a little I feel sure it will change the other way too in that at least a couple of the foreign summer signings will move out come come January, possibly three.

Hopefully a lesson will have been learned. That only properly scouted foreign players of known quality should be signed.
