Thracian Posted 28 November 2007 Posted 28 November 2007 Henderson 9 (Hard to fault. The guy made one amazing save and three or four more of decent quality to keep Leicester in a game they finally managed to draw. Among the top three or four games I've ever seen from him). Maybury 6 (Competent enough with being outstanding. One good shot near the end) Garner 6 (His best reserves game to date. One driving header might have given him a goal but he wasn't always comfortable against a clever number nine). N'Gotty 6.5 (Improved after a clumsy start and scored with a blistering header which saved the match) Rowe-Turner 5.5 (Subbed early second half. Still not dominant although he had his better moments) Kaebi 6 (Highlight was his movement and clever runs into dangerous situations. Otherwise patchy and his passing was wasteful even when he wasn't under pressure. Certainly he's moresuited to the position than full-back.). King 6.5 (Slow start but helped turn the tide and gave the side a bit of much-needed solidity in midfield. Never involved going forward though - his attacking skills seem a thing of the past and it seems such a pity to see them wasted) Hellings 6.5 (Strong. Quite determined. Just failed to have sufficient impact which seems to be his major failing) Hayes 7.25 (Lively and positive. Looks almost back to his best. I like him cos he's effective. Supplied the corner which gave N'Gotty his goal, grazed the bar with a fierce drive and delivered the pass which almost gave Garner a goal. Eventually subbed through injury.) Sappleton 5.5 (Disappointing. Wasted two or three good chances with his head and failed to shoot on a couple of other occasions when he might have done. Totally unpredictable on the ball as far as his control is concerned. Deft on occasions and then abyssmal) Chambers 5 (apart from a good move with King early on did little of note all night until his substitution at half-time) Subs: Odhiambo 6.5 (One cracking run and shot plus other useful contributions as City probably edged the second half. Looked fit and sharp) McKay 5.75 (Sappleton should have scored from one of his passes and his presence seemed to give others more space and opportunity) Cox 6 (Solid again at right back and always keen to support the attack. Looks a promising player)

Manwell Pablo Posted 28 November 2007 Posted 28 November 2007 haha Thracian beaten at his own game, funny.
shrood Posted 29 November 2007 Posted 29 November 2007 CT I know I wasn't at the match but I don't see how a team of 7 (and an 8) star players cannot beat Huddersfield Reserves.
Thracian Posted 29 November 2007 Posted 29 November 2007 CT I know I wasn't at the match but I don't see how a team of 7 (and an 8) star players cannot beat Huddersfield Reserves. Because we didn't have seven star players. Whatever reputations some might have arrived with Leicester had only one star in goalkeeper Henderson. I'd suspect one or two players were being sensible bearing in mind their likely involvement in the first team Saturday but Huddersfield deserve some credit. They passed well, particularly in the first half, and seemed faster to the ball and stronger for much of the game.

shrood Posted 29 November 2007 Posted 29 November 2007 Because we didn't have seven star players. Whatever reputations some might have arrived with Leicester had only one star in goalkeeper Henderson. I meant stars as in rating, not as in the fact they're superstars.
danny. Posted 29 November 2007 Posted 29 November 2007 I meant stars as in rating, not as in the fact they're superstars. a team of 7 (and an 8) the "and an 8" bit makes that pretty obvious
