Dunno if it's been said on here yet, but they do say that if you can get a point when playing badly, that's a good sign.

A point at Burnley? That'll do nicely...

For the record Tommeh who went to the match said that a) Clemence and Stearman were awful and

b) Wait for it... Motm for us?.... Yep, Carl Cort. And he wasn't joking either.

My sources at the game said the same thing... :o:o:o

But WTF is Holloway doing starting with SEVEN defenders on the pitch? I thought we'd got rid of such negativity in team selection. Obviously not.. :(

Only FOUR points off the drop zone now. Anyone willing to bet we'll still be as safe at the end of the month?

Tommeh would be right.

God knows what Clemence was playing at tonight, his worst game of the aseason for sure.

Cort was awesome tbh, i think the backing from Ollie has done him good, some class touches and nice bits of skill, if we had a more creative midfield tonight, he would've scored, too many times both him and Hume were dropping too deep.

Hume did ok, was his usual self, hopefully this goal will bring him back to his best, good finish too. He would be the one player in the squad you'd want the ball to fall to in that situation, thankfully it did.

Big shout out to Fulop who kept us in it yet again, Gareth McAuley, who was solid.

How many did we take Bert?

Been at the match, now back in the Travelodge. I dont reckon Cort played better than his usual self but thats my opinion, There were about 600 i would say.

Most sense Ive read on here :scarf::scarf: well said mate

We were urged to give Levein time. He got it.

We were urged to give Kelly time. He got it.

We were begged to give Mandaric Time. He's had nearly 12 months.

And what progress has been made over those four years?

Games against Burnley over that period were visually appalling. But there was precious little difference between the sides.

Last night the ONLY similarity between the teams was the goals scored.

We got hammered. Chance after chance for Burnley. One or two chances for Leicester.

With Levein, apart from one or two memorable exceptions, we were far too negative.

With Kelly we went deeply into defence overload

And yesterday we started with nine defenders. Some sodding progress.

I see our draw yesterday as the worst thing that could have happened. It will only encourage more of the same but to imagine we had any real reason for self-congratulation is an illusion. We got slaughtered.

When will the progress finally start?

And when will we have reserves that can replace those injured/suspended players like other clubs instead of novices, frail footballers and people who come briefly from distant lands and then disappear virtually unrecognised.

You have to believe our reserves right now. Most wouldn't grace non-League football as was emphasised by our recent 3-1 defeat against a Hinckley side we hammered for six under Martin Allen.

When does "give it time" end and the change of emphasis and standard start?

When do we stop making excuses for a set up where we don't even appear to scout our new signings properly, when we rarely seem capable of putting a really fit side out for various reasons, when we have no-one capable of playing certain positions, when we have professional players who struggle to put four or five passes together, when we have so little movement and so little pace?

These aren't new problems that have unluckily fallen onto Holloway's shoulders. These are the seeds we have sewn months ago.

I would have said more like 400 to be honest. Atmosphere was crap. The game was crap. But hey, what do you expect, its Burnley away right?

Carl Cort showed his feelings to the fans by just walking straight off down the tunnel after the end of the game.

You can hardly blame him.

We were lucky to only be 1-0 down at half time but deserved a point out of the game due to our second half performance. Burnley played with the kind of width I think Holloway would like us to play with, but it wasn't until the changes were made that we started to show any signs of doing so.

Draws like the one last night are brilliant if we can start winning regularly at home too.

How many times have I heard that? :D

We were lucky to come away with a point. If Burnley would have shown a little bit more composure infront of goal and if it was'nt for Fulop we would have been 4 or 5 down at half time. And we would have deserved it.

Cort did well he held the ball up very well showed some nice touches and linked play well. Kenton ran his socks off and closed down well at times. Clemence was shocking again , his passing was absoloutely woeful.

Shit game , shit atmosphere but I expected us to get mawled so meh!

A lot I'd imagine but it's true. Our away results have been decent this season so it's the home form that's holding us back still. Win your home games, draw your away games, average 2 points a game and you won't go far wrong. As Holloway said, we're a home win away from being a decent side.

I cannot argue with your comment just the fact that it doesn't work that way for us so we might as well try to win all our matches.

We won at home against Bansley but it didn't make us any better as a team or launch us into a better run of results.

We'll do that when we field a side that can all play football to the same tune.

A consistent side that isn't forever being radically changed in style and personnel.

so why start with only one recognised midfielder???

yeh, but they didn't & for the same reason we didn't create chances - cause they aren't that good - on the night we happened to have more quality up front than them, tho they had more than us in midfield...

If you had seen the game first hand then you would have seen they had plenty more quality up front. Blake and Lafferty did us dry.Maybury could'nt handle Lafferty he was taking the piss all game.

We were 2nd best all game and were more than lucky to get a point!

Holloway has to keep changing the team around until he can find out what his best team is. Until he knows what his best team is, line-ups won't be consistent. It's frustrating as a supporter because we've already seen what these players can and can't do in most cases but he has to do it. He might be able to get more out of certain individuals than other managers have in the past. It's alright saying we need to field a team that play football to the same tune but Holloway doesn't know enough about the players yet to know who fits in with his plans.

so why start with only one recognised midfielder???

Well he could've started Shaun Newton again or given young Andy King another start but if that would've been wise, I don't know. Newton's been poor but King made a decent impact from the bench. The number of defenders on the pitch last night underlines the need for some experienced, quality midfielders in January more than anything else e.g negative tactics etc.

Lafferty and Blake were awesome last night.

awesome at not scoring, if it were our players missing so many chances would we all be so full of praise - their goal came from a defender, & they drew a game they should have won.

Lafferty and Blake didn't get on the score sheet, therefore they didn't do their job, no amount of great build up play can make up for not scoring

But even so if we played awful, Hume scored though (therefore doing his job) and lost 6-1 we wouldn't be full of praise for the strikers even then.

Lafferty played left mid. Martin Fulop saved us on manier times. Alan Maybury is a joke.

I really don't know why he's still here.

Surely he's not that bad that groundless Scottish third div sides wouldn't want him...
