Fox in a Box Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 Could do with 3pts as we are actually at home and WBA are going to be a tough cookie to break down, off the back of a 4-2 thumping at home to Cov they will be right up for it. thoughts

If we sit back they`ll murder us but if we go for them we could win the game.

We need to show that we mean business in this league and a localish derby is a good place to start, If they have Phillips injured we may stand a chance thats if we have any forwards!!!!
danny. Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 cort will score 6 and the 8 defenders behind him will stand on the goalline and stop them scoring!
JakeShingler Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 If we get loads of suport i think we should scrape a 2-1 win

Im worried about there midfield to be honest. Brunt attacking Stearman, Koren attacking Mattock and in the middle they have more creativity with the likes of Greening and Teixeira. With our bit part midfield and out of form midfield more accurately I must admit that I hope we can cope with them. Cov showed that if you attack them you will score goals as they cant defend. We need to do that even if it means bypassing the midfield and go hoofball.

Geo V Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 There the top scorers in the division but concede more than a goal a game also. They haven't really replaced McShane or Davies IMO and Paul Robinson I think will be suspended for the game so we should attack them all the way and hopefully they`ll wilt.

So do most teams in this division mate. Whilst their defense is pretty average, I wouldn't dream of calling it poor. Albrechtsen, Barnet, Hoefkens, hardly poor.

Maybe calling them shite at the back was a bit of an over-statement but they don't even like playing a defensive midfielder these days and as a unit are there to be got at. Kiely in goal is another whose career went a bit tats up in recent times and doesn't have that aura of someone in goal to worry about or who will be particularly difficult to beat (especially at crosses). I honestly believe we can beat them if we attack. If we play "solid" football there midfield will over-run us and we`ll be the side who gets hammered.

I struggle to see how we're going to score more goals than them if we have Carl Cort and Iain Hume up front but we will see. The defense will need to be awake from the off.
Geo V Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 I struggle to see how we're going to score more goals than them if we have Carl Cort and Iain Hume up front but we will see.The defense will need to be awake from the off. We have major problems in attack with Johns fitness, DJ and Hume out of form, Cort not really doing much and Fryatt who apparently was in a bit of form before his sending off Im told? The thing is though, if you look at some of the other sides in this division who have equally average strike-forces, they seem to take advantage of being at home, something that we don't do. Regardless of who we have up front, we should be in a position to have the away side on the defensive and whether we take our chances or not is another matter. Far too many times we seem to be far too conservative in our approach at home when the lads (and fans) should be so fired up from the get-go that we should have the opposition on the back foot. Its time for us to really go for it at home and stop this negative mindset.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 Can we all agree that if we score more goals than the wba we will get 3 points
Geo V Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 Can we all agree that if we score more goals than the wba we will get 3 points What about if we score own goals?
Guest Gist Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 I seriously doubt we'll get anything out of this one. They have a quality squad who attack and score plenty of goals. Fair enough our defence is one of the best in the division, but there is only so much they can put up with over 90 minutes and when you barely look like scoring and have a starting eleven full of defenders it decreases your chances even more!
