foxesfan69 Posted 8 March 2005 Posted 8 March 2005 I wouldn't think so but i'm not sure. I don't think it applies to all competitions.....
Anish Posted 8 March 2005 Posted 8 March 2005 In my opinion he wouldn't be a major loss if he was suspended - stick MDV up front on his own with a 5 man midfield, and possibly promote Dodds to the bench (although more likely that Wright/Dublin will be the alternative strikers)
Shum Posted 8 March 2005 Posted 8 March 2005 I think you automatically miss the next game, so he would be out V Blackburn I think. I think CL will go with the same system he did at Charlton when we play Blackburn on Sunday.
Soho_Fox Posted 8 March 2005 Posted 8 March 2005 We are better off without Connolly now. He's had 35 games to get in the scoring groove. Plus he went over 20 games at West Ham after Boxing Day 2003 without scoring. That's not just bad luck. That's someone who isn't a goalscorer anymore. Keep waiting for him to come good and we'll go close to going down. MDV up front on his own like at Charlton and bring on Dublin off the bench if we need a goal.
Cobbo Posted 8 March 2005 Posted 8 March 2005 I believe when it is an accumulation of bookings rather than a red card, your ban kicks in a week after you received you 5th or 10th booking etc.. So he would be available for Blackburn. But don't quote me on that

Soho_Fox Posted 9 March 2005 Posted 9 March 2005 So why was Joey suspended against Forest after picking up his 10th booking at Reading? It takes effect next game these days.
Cobbo Posted 9 March 2005 Posted 9 March 2005 So why was Joey suspended against Forest after picking up his 10th booking at Reading? It takes effect next game these days. 76464 Maybe it's just the 5th booking then, I'm sure Tiatto was able to play the next game after picking up his 5th booking earlier in the season.
Birdy Posted 9 March 2005 Posted 9 March 2005 I'm pretty sure the ban takes place straight away. Ahh well,
Solihullfox Posted 9 March 2005 Posted 9 March 2005 Pretty sure the ban has a 7 day period before it comes into effect. After the 7 days he would miss the next game. To those who seem to think it would be good if Connolly missed the Blackburn game - would you enlighten me as to who will be running and working their socks off in order to try and create some space up front ????
Steven Posted 9 March 2005 Posted 9 March 2005 As the fifth booking has happened after the 1st of March there is no immediate suspension. The FA's rule that covers this:7. PUNISHMENTS – Relating to First Team Competitive Matches (a) CAUTIONS ADMINISTERED ON THE FIELD OF PLAY (i) If a Player accumulates five recorded cautions in FTCM between the opening day of the Playing Season and the last day in February in the same Season, he will be suspended automatically for a period covering: - One First Team Match (ii) If a Player accumulates five recorded cautions in FTCM between the opening day of the Playing Season and the last day of the same Season, he will be: - “Warned as to his Future Conduct†(iii) A Player who has already been subject to disciplinary action as a result of recording five cautions and then proceeds to record a further five cautions during the same Season, will be subject to the following punishments: - (iv) If a Player accumulates ten recorded cautions in FTCM between the opening day of the Playing Season and the second Sunday of April in the same Season, he will be suspended automatically for a period covering:- Two First Team matches (v) If a Player accumulates ten recorded cautions in FTCM between the opening day of the Playing Season and the last day of the same Season, he will be: - “Severely Censured and Warned as to his future Conduct†(vi) If a Player accumulates 15 recorded cautions in FTCM between the opening date of the Playing Season and the last day of the same Season, he will be suspended automatically for a period covering: - Three First Team matches (vii) A Player who has already been subject to disciplinary action as a result of recording five, ten and 15 cautions, and who goes on to record 20 cautions in FTCM in the same Season, shall be required to attend a meeting of a Disciplinary Commission, within seven days of the date of the last caution. The Members of a Commission will have the power to deal with the Player in such manner as they deem fit. The same procedure will apply for every further five cautions recorded against that Player. (viii) Any period of suspension arising from recording cautions will commence on the seventh day following the date of his last offence. The suspension will cover all approved First Team matches until such time as his Club’s First Team has completed the number of matches appropriate to the punishment in approved Competitions during the period covered by its opening league match and ending with the final match in which the Club is playing in an approved domestic Competition. (ix) Any period of suspension or part thereof which remains outstanding at the end of a Season must be served at the commencement of the next following Season.
Random Burglar Posted 9 March 2005 Posted 9 March 2005 Ive just been checking this one out on the internet!! Not 100% if it still applies or not but this is what i was quoted: Any period of suspension arising from the recording of cautions shall commence on the 14th day following the date of his last offence. This would be good news for anyone that wants Connolly for the Blackburn game.

Katy Posted 9 March 2005 Posted 9 March 2005 Left-sidedness is the future! 76549 I tell thee!
Samu Posted 9 March 2005 Posted 9 March 2005 Well it is kinda good considering no one seems to like to play on the left side so I always have a better chance of playing. I really don't have a right foot though!
Random Burglar Posted 9 March 2005 Posted 9 March 2005 Alot of the lads tell me sometimes when were playing i dont have a left or a right foot!! Supposedly left footed though!!
