Floating Fox Posted 24 December 2007 Posted 24 December 2007 Right. I take it you've backed every single initiative that the fans have bought forward to help improve the match day atmosphere?I take it you were behind N Block? I take it you repeatedly pester the club about safe standing sections? I take it you constantly inform them of OUR displeasure at the way the 'matchday' atmosphere is? I take it you will be supporting Standupandsing, lcfc_jme and myself when we meet with the club again soon? If you're not doing these things then what you posted is heartless. To be fair mate, they've always seemed supportive of ideas and back safe standing. I know they could do more, but for me they back Nblock last year, and put a report on their website about it. Bit harsh, I know they'll back us.
Foxes_Trust Posted 24 December 2007 Author Posted 24 December 2007 I for one couldnt give a fook what the foxes trust say. I have no afinity with them. This battle call is nothing different than what lots of people have been saying for a long time.I might be more inspired if someone like Gary Lineker said it. Because Gary attends about 2 games a season??
Foxes_Trust Posted 24 December 2007 Author Posted 24 December 2007 Did the FT back the singing section? Yes, it was featured on our website
Foxes_Trust Posted 24 December 2007 Author Posted 24 December 2007 Bit ill-judged. You're trying to muscle in on Holloway's territory. The onus is on him to sign some exciting players. The fans WILL respond. We need points from the Christmas home games, before any new players arrive, hence the timing of what we have said
Father Ted Posted 24 December 2007 Posted 24 December 2007 Because Gary attends about 2 games a season?? Because he is doing Match of the day thicko. And he did just as much as you to save the club
Foxes_Trust Posted 24 December 2007 Author Posted 24 December 2007 Q) Right. I take it you've backed every single initiative that the fans have bought forward to help improve the match day atmosphere? A) Those which are practical yes, the only one which will never happen is moving the away fans as the Safety Authority won’t agree Q) I take it you were behind N Block? A) We featured the singing section on our website when it was first launched Q) I take it you repeatedly pester the club about safe standing sections? A) No, because they can’t do it without changes to the law from government, what we did & are doing is lobbying our local MP’s to sign any Early Commons Day motions which put forward looking at the Safe Standing Issues, we persuaded most MP’s to sign up previously & 2 of the MP’s have spoken publicly in favour. Q) I take it you constantly inform them of OUR displeasure at the way the 'matchday' atmosphere is? A) The club aren’t happy with the atmosphere either & generally welcome an suggestions to improve it, but that doesn’t mean the club can allow constant standing as the Safety Authorities would act & may even close a section if tested. Q) I take it you will be supporting Standupandsing, lcfc_jme and myself when we meet with the club again soon? A) Suggest you talk to Amanda at SUSD & you will find we are one of the most supportive Trusts in the country on this issue, they are currently trying to persuade other supporters organisations to carry out the survey on Safe Standing that we recently did, the results of which have been published on our website & discussed on here. Q) If you're not doing these things then what you posted is heartless. A) So we wouldn’t say that was the case, would you?
Anish Posted 24 December 2007 Posted 24 December 2007 Unless Stearman's playing, obviously.. Come on Ultra, Stearman's been piss poor all season apart from the Wolves game, and his criticism has been warranted. However, Stearman has not (as far as I can recall) been booed or jeered, and that's because he's looked like he's putting in the effort (unlike some). Besides, as you'll notice on the Wolves post-match thread and player ratings, people here have recognised Stearman's excellent performance and commended him. Leicester fans aren't as bad as people make out when it comes to targetting their own players, and this piece from the FT is out of line. Who the f**k do they think they are taking the high moral ground being self-righteous and telling fans what to do?

Cort was boo'd on, Low got loads of abuse last year & Stearman certainly suffers abuse now. We are quite happy to be proved wrong over the next 2 games with a crescendo of positive noise
Father Ted Posted 24 December 2007 Posted 24 December 2007 Cort was boo'd on, Low got loads of abuse last year & Stearman certainly suffers abuse now.We just want to encourage positive support But you hardly did that when Mandaric was in talks, at least with the way it was made out in the media.
Foxes_Trust Posted 24 December 2007 Author Posted 24 December 2007 But you hardly did that when Mandaric was in talks, at least with the way it was made out in the media. In bold is most relevant, we asked pertinent questions & Milan told us directly he understood our stance
Father Ted Posted 24 December 2007 Posted 24 December 2007 In bold is most relevant, we asked pertinent questions & Milan told us directly he understood our stance And so was the way Holloway made out to the media about us booing Cort
Anish Posted 24 December 2007 Posted 24 December 2007 Cort was boo'd on, Low got loads of abuse last year & Stearman certainly suffers abuse now.We are quite happy to be proved wrong over the next 2 games with a crescendo of positive noise Cort was booed because he didn't put any effort in, didn't move, and was poor. Low was booed because he was so out of his depth it was embarrassing. He was more of a liability to the team than any opposition player. Stearman has come under criticism because of his sub-standard performances, but hasn't been booed or jeered. Fans will give credit where it's due and criticism when it's warranted. Stearman was widely given MoM against Wolves by most people here. Kisnorbo was booed when he played in midfield but the same fans recognise that he's decent enough in defence and haven't booed him since. If the players put in the effort consistently and they're not a liability to the team, fans won't target them. Simple as that. Slating the fans isn't the solution - you're just alienating them.

I am an active member of SUSD and Jamie has been in constant contact with Amanda, as has Standupandsing. I understand what the rules are, that the government has set. But clubs and fans need to be pro-active in making an effort to get this changed. I appreciate the work that you do. It's just annoying when you say the club know the atmosphere is poor and then stop ideas like N Block and give free tickets to under 8's in the Kop when we have a family stand.
Hullfox Posted 25 December 2007 Posted 25 December 2007 Because Gary attends about 2 games a season?? No because Gary has a personality and some faceless wonders do not.
Craig Posted 25 December 2007 Posted 25 December 2007 Because Gary attends about 2 games a season?? And he happens to actually be a Leicester Legend too.

It's just annoying when you say the club know the atmosphere is poor and then stop ideas like N Block and give free tickets to under 8's in the Kop when we have a family stand. We were surprised when they started U8's in the Kop, wrong move which is now difficult to reverse. We have suggested not issuing new U8's & just allowing those already in there to renew until it phases out through age
Ultra Posted 26 December 2007 Posted 26 December 2007 Come on Ultra, Stearman's been piss poor all season apart from the Wolves game, and his criticism has been warranted. However, Stearman has not (as far as I can recall) been booed or jeered, and that's because he's looked like he's putting in the effort (unlike some). Who the f**k do they think they are taking the high moral ground being self-righteous and telling fans what to do? As the FT make clear, Stearman has indeed attracted plenty of stick this season, not least from F1. But the criticism should perhaps have been better directed at the successive managers who have continued to select him while other, better alternatives were available. My post was in response to someone who proclaimed support for the team while featuring an anti-Stearman comment in his signature. I hope Stearman's improvement continues this afternoon and that he and the rest of the team receive the support they need. But that will depend on fans in ALL areas of the ground (not just the Kop or L1) showing a little passion for once and making some noise. Perhaps that's what the FT should have asked for. However, to suggest that they alone have been self-righteous about the matter is being a tad unfair.
Simi Posted 26 December 2007 Posted 26 December 2007 We were surprised when they started U8's in the Kop, wrong move which is now difficult to reverse. We have suggested not issuing new U8's & just allowing those already in there to renew until it phases out through age Well that's fine, but the problem was when we were in N Block, families complained about the bad language etc. We couldn't of done something similar to N Block in the Kop because of the season tickets and amount of small children. So, at the moment, we have a Family Stand for no reason.
Father Ted Posted 26 December 2007 Posted 26 December 2007 We were surprised when they started U8's in the Kop, wrong move which is now difficult to reverse. We have suggested not issuing new U8's & just allowing those already in there to renew until it phases out through age I have a brother who I go with in my family who is under 8 and we sit in F1 and we have no problems. Just being able to see past the guy in front sometimes which can occur anywhere in the stadium. Although, yes, I agree with Ched and some parents can be very annoying at times.
Guest Posted 27 December 2007 Posted 27 December 2007 Yet again the Trust demonstrates why the majority of fans see no purpose for it's existence, and it's lack of popularity. Yesterday, I had several fans come and rant at me about your proclamation, having read it in the Mockery, all incensed by the patronising tone etc etc. Whatever my own feelings are on booing the players (and no, I don't think that it is constructive etc), quite a few people are more than a little unhappy at being told how to (or not to, in this case) express their anger towards an indifferent City side, and some poor, poor results at home; not exactly a new problem, is it. You may not think that £300 plus is insignificant, but as was pointed out to me by one person, if you go to a restaurant on the understanding that the food and service is going to be of a particular service, only to find it doesn't meet up to the expectations that were sold to you, would you happily sit there, thank the staff and pay them a hefty tip? Or would you be calling the manager over to let him know of your disatisfaction? As far as some City fans are concerned, they are doing the latter.
Guest Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Does getting behind the team involve leaving five minutes before the final whistle, by any chance?
Sparky Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 How popular are the other "trusts" in the football league ? It seems that the foxes trust take a lot of stick and whether warrented or not its another negative aspect of this football club that has been on its knees for 4 years now . Do other trusts seem positive to their club or is this the general case across the board?

Other Trusts tend to be more noticable in the lower leagues, where they are a valuable asset to their club, so my anwer would be "quite popular".
