Forever the Optimist. I think.

I go to almost every game so I must be slightly optimistic.

Would have put Going To Southampton but had no-one to go with. :frusty:

Intresting.

My dad was tellling me about when we played Norwich in the prem. We'd been relegated and they were to join us if they lost, and we took 5k with a special train put on for 800 fans.

No it's "TERRIFIC BLUE ARMY" 1300 for an FA Cup game to Southampton. Oh dear  What have we become. I guess it's more to do with the state of the game more than any other factor.

Although saying that, can't complain about prices for once!

That's nothing...you should have been there when we played Charlton at Upton Park..we had over half the ground that day...fooking amazing support (lost as I remember though  )

The FA cup is great - love the part where the draw is taking place and waiting for our name to pop out the hat.

Southampton gives us half a chance.

Would like to beat them and then get a home tie against Bolton...got nothing planned for the 26th! :scarf:

Hell no, not enough beer could get me through that fuc ker of a game.

I know it would mean Megson returning, but I couldn't give a shit about that boring cu nt.

In the 70s we used to take around 10k to away cup matches quite often. Arsenal (twice), Luton and QPR spring to mind.

It's a sad state of affairs when some of the club wet themselves at the prospect of taking less than a sixth of that total..

Reckon there will be about 1,500 there but its a great point about there used to be 10,000 at FA cup games, was watching the Luton game on the classic games dvd and it looked fantastic, I wish I was alive and could've been there.

Tbh I doubt I'll go to this one now, I'm fed up of spending hard earned money every week to watch us mostly loose around the country. The only away games I can say that this season I've really enjoyed have been palace, Bristol city and probably colchester although that was only down to their magnificent ground.

I thought Hull was the last straw as far as away's go this season but no QPR tempted my for some obscene reason and look what happened there, in all honesty I had more fun fooking shopping and getting to the ground than i had when I was actually there witnessing the shower. the game turned a decent day into a shite one.

It really is quite appauling how all these fans turn out for forest, villa and chelsea and probably will do again for cov and yet when we're away at places like Hull, QPR, colchester and s****orpe and theres barely 800 at each it really does make you wonder what all our so called "fans" do on a saturday.

Yeah but I'd say that's a slight contradiction in terms. You could probably attribute it to the state of the game if it was a £28 a pop job that had been moved to 5.20 and bashed on Sky. At £15 a go though, at 3pm on a Saturday it's more to do with the state of Leicester fans than any other factor.

You look at a club like Aston Villa, the other day they took 6,000 away to Wigan and ALL of them stand & sing all game, when it's not even anywhere near one of the bigger away games of the season. We can't even muster up 1,500 for a cup game, and no doubt the majority of those will sit. It is dissapointing.

90% of our away support appear to be OAPs most weeks. Away at Ipswich a couple of years ago I felt like I'd mistakenly booked on a Saga holiday. In ten years time we will be taking about 200 everywhere cos they'll all have snuffed it.

Playing the way we are I'm not sure I can muster another 10 years even if I haven't snuffed it! You'd better make that 200 just one - Thracian :D

I know, it's not ideal (no offence to the 60+ intended.) Our support in general appears to be of an older age than most. If you look around the kop, it's a very small percentage of people that appear to be in 16-25 bracket. The club need to concentrate getting these lot in instead of the under-8s.

Does he go to away games?

I heard a rumour that Ultra and Thracian had started going together. Holding hands. That sort of thing.

The 18-25 age group are the ones most put off by no standing, no unreserved seating, kids in adult areas, expensive beer, crap music after goals etc, over zelous stewards and extortionate pricing.

In fact everything the club has done to make it a 'community event' which historically it never was, it was largely a working mans' event well aprt ffrom the prawns that ran the club.

I don't really have a problem with them trying to make it more of a community event, if that meant they tried to draw in more people from a cross-section of the community. Except by community they actually mean family.

Neither do I however they've done it at the expense of a core of fans that used to be the most fanatical, noisiest and provided the bulk of the away support.

Adding is fine replacing is counter productive.
