A woman single handedly managed to ruin my New Year celebrations. I've been seeing her now for almost 2 years. Although to be fair shes had a boyfriend for that amount of time, but hes a ****, so the guilt i feel, although there, is minimal. Anyway, a few weeks ago, she mentions she has a crush on some lad. Hes no particular threat, so i cant say i was that bothered. On New Years Eve, this lad gets off with some other girl, who its pretty well known hes been into for a while. So, on finding this out, said girl, who is also my best mate by some distance (a fook buddy i guess then, but also someone i can talk to about anything), sulks for the rest of the night, undoubtedly aided by her copious alcohol intake, and takes it out on me. She hasnt spoken to me now since, and she usually speaks to me everyday. I did mention this other lad getting off with somebody that night, but assumed she had already known this, given that one of her girl friends shouted this out at the top of her voice earlier in the night. She seems think i was being deliberately malicious. I wasnt, but there you go. And i really dont want to lose her friendship, but it seems there is bugger all i can do about it. HELP!

nicely put, but thats the general idea. and yeah, i know im probably gettin exactly what i deserve, but it really isnt as black and white as that, and obviously there a certain things i cant post on here. this crush thing is only a few ekks ols and to be honest it will past, she hasnt got a hope if im blunt about it, hes got other irons in the fire. im far more worried about the friendship side of things. shes been my best mate for 2 years and i dont wana lose that. however, its always a risk once you let sex into a friendship i guess.

im not doin dear miriam. i once read her column in the mirror and never again. she adviced a brother and sister that if they wanted to carry on sh@ggin the y could, as they had a child together. just dont let the parents find out. that was a bit rich for me.

I think you need to find someone who will help you build up your self esteem.

sleeping with someone who already has a boyfriend, whilst can meet your physical needs can only be of detriment to your self confidence, even more so when she openly admits to your face that she likes someone else , and then she has the audacity to sulk about it in front of you when he gets off with someone else -

i dont see how she has any respect for your fellings considering her antics mentioned in the previous paragrpah- i dont see how that is considered friendship.

Move on and find someone who actually likes you.

I had no idea a fuck buddy and best friends could be the same person?

Especially when that person already has a boyfriend... and a crush.

Sounds like she's got her fingers in everyone's pie... I can see the attraction.

So you've been piping a lass for two years now while she has a boyfriend, and she also has a crush on another guy?

That's what I read, too. :ermm:

Try Diedre.

She once advised someone on what to do if their penis bent during sex.

She knows everything.

you're probably right. I cant claim to have really low self esteem though, but this situation has had a tendency to knock it out of me now and then. but its quite hard to break out of the habit, physical needs met, whilst not having to meet the emotional needs of another myself. but then, ive got my own emotional needs which im ignoring.

thing is, she actually has really low self esteem herself, done self harm in the past and stuff, shes basically a nice girl, but flawed by her own chronic lack of self belief. big chebs as well.

deirdres photo casebook is the best. the same people appear in it every couple of weeks. they must have loads of problems, despite being really fit. they dont seem to have jobs or clothes though. that might be a starting point for their self improvement.

Big chebs?

This certainly throws a spanner in the works.

If nothing else I refer you to Flynny's post in the Wikipedia thread:

THIS is the best and worst wikipedia article ever.

You are 100% right mate. however when a girl with chebs like hers seems to want some, and im very drunk, added to my disappointment at my lack of sex since stsrting uni, which cant be right, i lose all self control. giving up alcohol isnt an option either.
