OK It may be a contradiction but the American beers ARE for the Americans primally.

Anyway I have a list of the breweries that may be available subject to availibility. What the beers are I do not know. They are mainly bottle and may be pricey. I was told that it is just an excuse to clear out a few unsold brews.

Heres the list. There will be some English cask ales to try so you don't have to drink just USA beers.

Anchor

Brooklyn

Flying Dog

Goose Island

Great Divide

Left Hand

Rogue

Sierra Nevada

Any information from the USA foxiles about the above will be useful.

Time to dip into my memory ... is Anchor the brewery that makes Anchor Steam? If so, good stuff. Brooklyn Brewery is very popular with hipsters in NYC, but I never liked their standards. I've been there a few years ago. Their seasonal beers are their best. Goose Island makes a good Pilsner. Sierra Nevada's IPA is popular among Americans who prefer pale ales.

I was drinking bottles of Goose Island India Pale Ale on New Years Eve. It's the complete opposite to all the Anhauser-Busch crap that's produced for the mass US market. I got it from a shop in Knaresbrough that specialises in bottled micro-brews, foreign beers and anything weird and wonderful in the world of alcohol.

Very hoppy and very strong. Also very nice.

This a contradiction in terms.

It is indeed.

It's on quite regularly at the Criterion, although it's a tad expensive. Still well worth checking out once in a while, though..

Went last night. Mostly bottled stuff on sale, and quite expensive at that.

But I sampled the Brooklyn IPA, Goose Island and the Juju Ginger and they were worth tasting..:cheers:
