gagandeep Posted 4 August 2004 Posted 4 August 2004 if we go up how many player sdo you think we'll need? i think connoly, williams, gudjohnson, canero, makin, dublin(if he can play on), walker, gillespie(if his heads sorted) are all players that can play in the premier league and do well. then there is youngsters who can either thrive in the big league, or dissapoint. this season will be crucial for the likes of wright, o'grady, butcher, petrescu. If they are given a chance and earn a place in the side, they can develop into premier class players. this mean that we will need to bring in just another 5-6 players. with the likes of scowcroft, elliot, benjamin off the wage bill i think it will be possible to spend 1-2 million on 3 or 4 players. then we can sign the out-of-contract stars, like pompey did. this will ensure we have a good side. so please adams this time dont buy players just for the sake of it if we go up. I will be very confident of going back up if adams uses this strategy. also we must try and keep walker. he is out of contract soon, and although he is on a big contract, he's worth it.
Oli Posted 4 August 2004 Posted 4 August 2004 We will hvae to keep all those players you mentioned except Gillespie, he don't deserve to wear our colours. I think we will have to get rid of Blake because he won't be premiership quality, and bring in one of our youngsters. It will be a big season for Stearman as well. Hopefully he will make some apperiances for us this season then progress into a premiership player like Heath did 2 years ago. But the Main thing is we need to go up.

Muz Posted 4 August 2004 Posted 4 August 2004 He's obviously gonna rebuild again! But if we are going to go up this has to be the season for the young players to come through! Winning the championship would bring alot of financial income into the club! Which means this time round we could have money to spend in the Prem!

Stewart is one of my favorite city players. He has so much ability. He has the skill and pace to take players on but he didnt do that much last season, hopefully we will see alot more of him doing it this season. Do you remember his corker against wimbledon away 2 seasons ago, absolutly amazing.

Muz Posted 4 August 2004 Posted 4 August 2004 My fave Jordan goal is that header against Brighton oure class!
dynamite foxes Posted 4 August 2004 Posted 4 August 2004 we will have to spend proper money on players such as Lescott we will need 5 quality player not 11 rubbish 2 defnders 2 midfielders and a striker and we will need to spend money wisely
Buzzell Posted 4 August 2004 Posted 4 August 2004 Depends on whether we win it because if we go back up we will need all the money we can get so winning Division One is crucial. Then look for some decent players to buy. Its going to be a big achievement if we go up and stay up!

Its going to be a big achievement if we go up and stay up! whats the difference in prize mony of winning it or finishing 2nd? the tv money received be's the same. but go's up depending on the amount of matches live. after las season i think sky know city are a team to put live, if they want goals, and last ones as well. it would probabaly make a difference of about 50-100k
Oli Posted 4 August 2004 Posted 4 August 2004 You get prize money for where you finish. We wouldnt of had connolly this season without prize money. Because we finished 18th we recieved i think it was 5000k more than wolves who finished bottom.

Ricey Posted 4 August 2004 Posted 4 August 2004 I'm not even thinking about this yet, if we go up then I will think about it.
Scow Posted 4 August 2004 Posted 4 August 2004 I'm not even thinking about this yet, if we go up then I will think about it. Exactly. Some people do think too far ahead of themselves.
Guest Posted 5 August 2004 Posted 5 August 2004 We haven't even kicked a ball yet! I won't be thinking about Premiership football until it's a mathematical certainty!
