I am guilty myself of praising some aspects of the play, but when you look at it properly, its ONLY style over substance. What's the difference between us spending 2 minutes and risking calamity at the back to beat their press? When they could beat ours by just playing one long ball or a through ball to their wing? We've got good enough players to compete comfortably in this league, but that's assuming we play in a manner that the other teams do, in a more conventional pragmatic way. The system is hampering us completely. I don't honestly put an ounce of blame on a single player from yesterday. This is 100% on the system and thats coming from someone desperate for us to have success under Martin or anyone else.

Remember when we got Pearson back for the second time and the first game I think we won 2 or 3-0? I feel if we get in that sort of manager again right now, we'd see something similar. The fans can't be blamed for booing. I don't myself as it feels too pantomime, but from the off there was plenty of "support" in terms of attempts to motivate the team and contribute to a good atmosphere. Unfortunately, again, they've done the same to us in terms of conceding laughable goals.

I think the colours are hugely important. Its part of your identity. That's why I'd prefer away kit to always be yellow or white, sash kit is acceptable too. Also why i'm not frothing at the mouth for the burgundy kit. Surely big companies should be all over it too, brand recognition and everything.

There were some flashes of nice attacking play, the likes of which has been rare for us over the last two seasons. I think Burns will come good as well, and hopefully Chaplin fit. 3-1
