budfox Posted 25 January 2008 Posted 25 January 2008 Ollie has to be congratulated on the way he has handled the surplus to requirement players. He was honest enough to say 'you shouldnt be here' and 'go away and look for another team' This has resulted in a fair amount moving on or agreeing severance. Ollie wasnt my first choice, but i believe this guy knows his sh1t' and given time will prevail. Lets stop being picky about who we sign and what we pay. Lets get behind the man, and see where it takes us.

Fox You Forest Posted 25 January 2008 Posted 25 January 2008 Lets stop being picky about who we sign and what we pay. Lets get behind the man, and see where it takes us. I Believe that was Martin Allen's approach too.
rob-blue-fox Posted 25 January 2008 Posted 25 January 2008 yeah i agree at least he's got the balls to tell them
James. Posted 25 January 2008 Posted 25 January 2008 Who isn;t behind him? Perhaps 5% of people on thid forum? It's true (yes I AM agreeing with you). In fact it's probably less than that. He is one of the most well supported managers we've had for along time if you don't include Allen because he never really had a chance to piss us all off..!
budfox Posted 25 January 2008 Author Posted 25 January 2008 Who isn;t behind him? Perhaps 5% of people on thid forum? And your thoughts on how hes handled the transfer market and players that have left, is.......
budfox Posted 25 January 2008 Author Posted 25 January 2008 I Believe that was Martin Allen's approach too. I know what your saying. The difference with ollie is hes buying or bidding for players we know
Fox You Forest Posted 25 January 2008 Posted 25 January 2008 I know what your saying. The difference with ollie is hes buying or bidding for players we know My comment had nothing to do with Ollie.
budfox Posted 25 January 2008 Author Posted 25 January 2008 My comment had nothing to do with Ollie. Why have you posted that comment in this thread then
Fox You Forest Posted 25 January 2008 Posted 25 January 2008 Why have you posted that comment in this thread then You said "Lets" (meaning people on this forum) stop being picky about signing's. Me being on this forum simply pointed out that was Martin Allen's approach too which relates to your comment about Ollie letting people go.

Fox You Forest Posted 25 January 2008 Posted 25 January 2008 Very confusing. Nvm it was a little joke but it was missed or just not funny.
budfox Posted 25 January 2008 Author Posted 25 January 2008 Nvm it was a little joke but it was missed or just not funny. I love jokes but didnt get that one PM me with more info, its my age.

Well he did... just not while he was still here.

Bluemoon Posted 25 January 2008 Posted 25 January 2008 Lets be fair, any one of us could single out the dead wood in this club and basically tell them to get lost but well done all the same Ollie Exactly!! I will be alot happier about the man when he actually starts moving us up the table. Until then I have seen nothing that a city businessman in a suit couldn't have done.
budfox Posted 25 January 2008 Author Posted 25 January 2008 All aboard the Titanic....all ashore who's going ashore!. Full steam ahead Cap'n....ah! there's nothing like a new man at the Helm. Get behind him in the transfer market is what the thread is about Theres plenty on here questioning signing Norris for 2mil for instance.Im saying get behind him in his transfer deals.drater.
Moreton Posted 25 January 2008 Posted 25 January 2008 Yeah MA did also say to some players that they were not wanted here and gave them a chance to find other clubs but Ollie took it to the next level and instead of trying to find them another club he has just simply got rid of them which i think is good. No nonsense. Hammond is surley next...

I'm not surprised....the guy is overrated and it is one reason I have my doubts about our media loving "saviour". £2m is a lot of money - even to MM. There are far better midfielders out there for far less, but it feels we are going to pay the price for some sort of strange infatuation.

As a supporter of Chuck.s current club, I am still hoping that he will stay, even at 2 million. Ollie knows well how capable he is, and I feel 2 million is not unreansonable for a player of his ability with a proven Championship record and also not injury prone like some.
Manwell Pablo Posted 26 January 2008 Posted 26 January 2008 It's true (yes I AM agreeing with you).In fact it's probably less than that. He is one of the most well supported managers we've had for along time if you don't include Allen because he never really had a chance to piss us all off..! I wouldn't say he's well supported, I'd say some of our fans have relised that sacking him would make our club look like one of the biggest jokes in proffesional football so therefore have no choice than to get behind him. Thats how I feel anyway.

There's no evidence that a £2m bid has even been made. Given that we've just bought a midfielder with years of Premier League experience for £500k, I think you're deluding yourself if you think Norris is worth that much.

Well you would say that wouldn't you. You're just hoping your club will receive a nice big oversized cheque for an average player.

Not at all, Ipswich have offered 1.75 and we have declined, I hope we can persuade him to stay, he played well to-day.
