davieG Posted 19 February 2008 Posted 19 February 2008 Am I missing something? Sheffield Wednesday are hoping to wrap up a loan deal for Chelsea striker Ben Sahar after the Blues agreed to the switch. The Owls are desperate to land a new striker after learning that Akpo Sodje will miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury and Sahar is the player they want on board. Chelsea are happy for the player to go out and get some first-team action under his belt and Owls boss Brian Laws is planning to speak to the player before wrapping up a deal. "Ben Sahar is a player we have been talking about and he's a very talented young player," Laws revealed. "We're going to talk to the player before anything is done because he is young and new to the country, so probably does not know too much about Sheffield Wednesday. "Chelsea have agreed to the move in principal, so it should go ahead if the player is happy with the move."
Maybes Posted 19 February 2008 Posted 19 February 2008 Am I missing something? Sinclair probably just didn't want to come to leicester.
Darkzzz_ Posted 19 February 2008 Posted 19 February 2008 I was going to post this earlier, I would have had Sahar here i think. He is quite usefull!!! But he is to good for us as is Sinclair!
Koke Posted 19 February 2008 Posted 19 February 2008 He was bad when QPR came to our place a few months ago. In fact, so bad that he got taken off at half time, if memory serves me right. Sinclair is rated a lot higher than Sahar I presume.

Sinclair is rated a lot higher than Sahar I presume. I think that's the case. Sinclair played for Chelsea in the cup on Saturday and although i'm sure they'll loan him out, they probably do want him to be playing at a level where it will benefit the player as much as possible. Playing for an attacking team at the top of the table is going to help Sinclair learn what's expected of him at a higher level, than playing for a mediocre and very incosistent team. As annoying as it is, I agree with Avram on this. Even if I was well pissed off last week.
Joe. Posted 19 February 2008 Posted 19 February 2008 Sinclair's been out on loan twice now to Championship clubs, whereas Sahar's only had a fairly unsuccessful spell at QPR so far. As Ric and Karim said, I think Sinclair's probably more highly rated than Sahar too at this stage. I don't personally blame Chelsea too much for not sending Sinclair to us. The quality of football that's been on display from us this season won't particularly help him.
Staf Posted 19 February 2008 Posted 19 February 2008 Awesome signing he isnt as good as sinclair but i wouldnt of minded him

We really do not need another striker at this time.
