filbertway Posted 5 August 2004 Posted 5 August 2004 JUst heard this on talksport, pardew ses that 2 clubs are after him so he most likely wont be playing. Sounds like good new to me
Oli Posted 5 August 2004 Posted 5 August 2004 Brilliant news. Hopefully we can take advantage of them not having him in the team.
filbertway Posted 5 August 2004 Author Posted 5 August 2004 Yep, and there will be a little weight lifted off the 2 cm's that had the job of not only getting by him but stopping him.
dhermon Posted 5 August 2004 Posted 5 August 2004 its now three clubs portsmouth crystal pal and now everton are in for him and looks a real doubt this weekend :w00t:
Scow Posted 5 August 2004 Posted 5 August 2004 I think he's over rated personally. Never really impressed me when I've seen him play.
Steven Posted 5 August 2004 Posted 5 August 2004 I think he's over rated personally. Never really impressed me when I've seen him play. You are not an easy man to impress though. :w00t:

Cat Burger Posted 5 August 2004 Posted 5 August 2004 He shunned Criggy Palace didn't he, I reckon he'd do the same to Pompey and possibly the toffs, I reckon he'l go to Newcastle or something. He is a geordie after all.
dpjfox Posted 5 August 2004 Posted 5 August 2004 They wont have any time to spend the money, the'll have to wait for next transfer window, we'll be in the clear by then, i hope!
Guest Daniel Posted 6 August 2004 Posted 6 August 2004 I think there is some kind of transfer system, you can only buy from higher clubs or something like that.
Southern Fox Posted 6 August 2004 Posted 6 August 2004 I think he will play on Saturday regardless of whether a move is imminent on not. At the end of the day, Pardew will want his strongest team available and as Carrick hasnt gone anywhere yet, im pretty much certain he will start. I think for West Ham, gone are the days that they are worried that Carrick may get injured and then the transfer fall through. May Hammers fans & Pardew may even be hoping something like that happens. On the lads quality. The jury for me has always been out. He can obviously play a bit but he hardly set the Fizzy alight last year now did he and I think the £2.5m that has been turned down already is a bit steep. He is still a young player who probably hasnt reached the levels he would have done by now had the likes of Joe Cole & Rio stayed around for a bit longer. Saying that Im sure Tomas Repka and John Moncur taught him a few things Joey will give him a cruch early on for sure.
