Chandler Posted 29 March 2005 Posted 29 March 2005 Chandler, it is you who does not get it. What you are saying is if you raced a world class marathon runner and after 1 mile he was 100 yards ahead of you, you would still be 100 yards behind after 26 miles wrong you would be 2600 hundred yards behind, plus the extra he gains because of his extra ability and that is where we are. After 11 matches the point difference is so little that two wins would have shot us near the top, and two loses would see us plumet to the bottom. Eleven matches in is not a reflection of the potential of the squad. What is a reflection of the squads ability is the fact that we was playing the worst football I have seen at city in since the early 90's. and that was and is mainly MA's fault. Simple as that. MA knows it that is why he left. From what little you know of CL do you realy think he would have bought in that pile of overaged, unmotivated players, in fact would any manager worth his salt have bought them. Ask your self why the season before, a whole squad of 23 players left city. and dont suggest the crap about "Get out clauses" 23 players left, 23 players, for fcuk sake think about it, Find me another club that has had 23 players leave in a season. I bet you cant. The left because: They have no faith in MA They did not like MA They did not respect MA They do not perform for MA MA was the problem What ever it was that happened last season between MA and the players, I dont know but I know that he distroyed the moral and motivation of a complete squad. and his fcuk you attitude ment he thought he could just buy in players and make it work. Well he was wrong. All he did was bring in another group of players some good some crap and he then set about destroying them. If MA had stayed we would be below gillingham, with all the players trying to leave us to get away from adams. With the players we had last season, we would have been on top of this league and on our way back to premier. MA screwed up in so many ways he know he had to go. He knew better than anyone else that he had fcuked up, and Daffy Ducked up big time. So chandler please stop using the results from a few games as your dislike for CL and look at the bigger picture and please start to appreciate how much shite MA, PT and DB left at city that needs sorting out, and then take an unbiased view of CL and see that he has a very difficult job ahead, which needs the support of everyone. 83662 Step, It's clear that you have some (limited) mathematical ability. What is more apparent though is that you have no faculty for verbal reasoning. And this is a problem shared by most on this forum. Sadly, it is also a problem shared by 99% of people who follow the sport. Whatever Adam's faults were, he got us promotion from the division we are in now. He got us promotion when it was a more difficult division than it is now. He got us promotion when we were in financial melt down. He got us promotion without being able to sign or even loan players for half the season. He got us promotion with an ageing crop of has beens, and mediocre journeymen. And everyone saw it as Adam's promotion. With one or two honourable exceptions, I couldn't see anyone else pulling this feat off. Your interpretation of the stats is distorted. So let me put you straight. 1) Levein's points yield per game is lower than Adams. 2) Latrines current run is the worst of the season - two months without a league win. 3) Levein has destroyed the teams away form. Only one win on the road and that was nearly four months ago. Your naive (and dishonest) reasoning about why players chose to jump ship pre season is laughable. Don't you know that players only play for the shirt when there aren't richer pickings elsewhere? Can't remember too many of them going to slum it in the Championship. Can't remember too many of them opting for pay cuts: can you? As for your '23', as well the 'Judas's' above I would like to know who else you include in this tally and when they actually 'left' (as opposed to being booted out). No doubt you have inflated this figure (and the timespan) to support your argument. What makes this hypocritical though, is that this is exactly what you would have Levein do: flush out Adam's 'dross' is it not? But of course this would not be 'leaving' in your book would it? As for the attractive football...personally I would rather win ugly than lose pretty. And as far as getting behind the team is concerned that's fine. Except that Levein is taking our patience for granted. I do resent it when someone has the neck to go on TV and remark how LCFC is a pressure free environment compared to...wait for it...supersized footballing powerhouse about to be revealed....compared to... HEART OF FU*KING MIDLOTHIAN!!! A ramschackle team of no marks, playing in front of diddly squat, in a dilapidated barn. Are you for real Levein? Tell him it aint so folks!

Chandler Posted 29 March 2005 Posted 29 March 2005 Just like Millwall, no one likes me and I don't care. Foxestalk ain't a popularity contest, though most people on here can't bear to be unpopular. Everyone want's to run with the herd. If you are a bit dull, weak and not very bright then the herd is a good place to be I suppose. On the other hand, if you tend to have an original take on things, can take care of yourself and are as sharp as a razor, well,... Know what I mean, Daniel my son?

reynard Posted 29 March 2005 Posted 29 March 2005 Just to inform Chandler Levein is a word that is first found in 17th century english literature and derives from a contraction of the latin word lavatrina and is thus not a us military term in it's origin. However, like many of his arguments it is full of ****. Come on Adams has gone we all need to get behind the team. we are where we are and we can't change that.

Chandler Posted 30 March 2005 Posted 30 March 2005 Just to inform Chandler Levein is a word that is first found in 17th century english literature and derives from a contraction of the latin word lavatrina and is thus not a us military term in it's origin. However, like many of his arguments it is full of ****. Come on Adams has gone we all need to get behind the team. we are where we are and we can't change that. 84635 Now either you are the 21st century's answer to Dr Samuel Johnson and have the derivation of virtually every word in the English Language at your finger tips Reynard, OR within the last 24 hours you became aware of the fact that I was not actually mispelling 'Levein' and that the term 'Levein' might actually mean something uncomplimentary. But it took young Daniel's chance remark and my cryptic response to propel you to your dictionary (a present from your dad on losing your cherry to next door's doberman) and enlightenment. PS The term 'Levein' has not been in popular usage here for well over a century. It is now regarded as an 'American English' expression. My definition and description was thus correct (where did I say it's 'origin' was American?). PPS 'We are where we are' is circular and has no meaning. 'We are where we are because of a grim Jocko ba*tard aided and abetted by total ****wits like Reynard' demonstrates clearly the cause & effect relationship.
Guest Posted 30 March 2005 Posted 30 March 2005 And everyone saw it as Adam's promotion. 84460 There you go, making assumptions again. Some of us didn't credit Adams and said so at the time, shock horror.
Ric Flair Posted 30 March 2005 Posted 30 March 2005 Chandler, I enjoy reading your posts even though I totally disagree with 99% of them. Both parties here (yourself as one, and the rest of the forum as another) are facing a losing battle as it doesn't matter how much we both implement our views, we aren't going to take each others views on board. Now you might be right, Levein might turn out to be as inadequate as you claim him to be and you can have your 15 minute moment then if it occurs. But your not going to convince anyone at the minute as we are people who have learnt to give people a fair chance in life. In the past us leicester fans may well have been hasty in some of the things we've done, but we've recognised that this club was being managed badly for a number of years and it finally caught up with us. With that in place, it has been conceived that it might well take time to sort this club out and the majority of the fans are prepared to give the manager time. Hats off to Levein for atleast trying to change things at this club, even if he doesn't succeed at this club he might well have laid the foundations for this club to be successful again and that's what we have been crying out for. I can't accept anything you say at the minute as i'm fully behind Levein (support wise) and I will be until i'm proved otherwise. Less than 6 months in a job of drastic changes isn't enough time for me to throw the towel in on Levein's regime. After 15 years of supporting Leicester and football as a whole i've realised how hard it is to manage a football club and giving manager's time does have it's rewards in some cases. If things haven't changed in a years time, which will be enough time to make a proper judgement on Levein then fair enough I will hold my hands up and accept that perhaps Levein isn't the man to take this club forward. But as i've said, I think your opinions on Levein aren't from inside knowledge on the man but because of either a hatred towards him or because you hold a grudge after 'Tha Saviour' left us. Keep the dream alive though Chandler, you always need dreams. Don't forget your crayons though. Imagine there's no heaven It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people Living for today Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion too Imagine all the people Living life in peace You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will be as one Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger A brotherhood of man Imagine all the people Sharing all the world You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will live as one

Chandler Posted 31 March 2005 Posted 31 March 2005 Fair post Hoof (as always, but you are a moderator). But lets deal with that lying little love/hate minx of mine, Lisa. Lisa, you suffer from false memory syndrome. Now, lie down and relax. Your eyelids are feeling heavy so close them. You are in a state of deep relaxation. I want you to help me. Just listen to the sound of my voice. OK? You are in a stadium, it's spring and you are surrounded by lots of happy, clappy people. Can you see it all? The year is 2003. On the field, a team is doing a lap of honour around the pitch. The crowd are chanting. Can you hear it? 'ONE MICKY ADAMS, THERE'S ONLY ONE MICKY ADAMS!' You remember this team of bodgers eh, Lisa? It set all sorts of records didn't it? Fewest goals ever conceded in a season. Equal lowest number of defeats. But remember the dark cloud Lisa? They said this team would never survive in the Prem, didn't they? How on earth could such an awful team containing, Rogers, Impey, Benjamin, Summerbee (aaargh!) win automatic promotion? INSPIRATION! Do you understand Lisa? Good. Now, I'm going to count down from ten and you are going to feel wide awake. 10 9 8...lighter and lighter...7 6 5...feeling more awake...4 3 2...I'm going to click my fingers when we get to 0 and you'll remember everything I've said...1 0. Click. Wide awake now. OK same time next week and we'll discuss your 'Levein' problem.

As for the promotion winning team, Adams soon sorted that one out, oh yes. Thanks for the session Chandler, but isn't it time for your colonic irrigation?

He did remarkably well for us that season and people have their opinions on him. He has his weaknesses though and they became evident last season and this season, in an ideal world they wouldn't have become exposed and he wouldn't of lost his hunger for the job at Leicester but he did. In the end I think it's worked out best for both parties, time will tell. Let Levein have a fair crack and then cross swords.
Chimp Posted 31 March 2005 Posted 31 March 2005 FFS, this Adams vs Levein argument is so pointless, just give it a rest.
