Simi Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 Sin bin works in rugby so why shouldn't it in football. Because Rugby players aren't overpaid arrogant twats who think they're superior to the referees. They've been showing respect for years to referees in a highly aggressive sport where I'm sure tensions run just as high, if not higher than football.
lildave3 Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 Eboue is the biggest cnut in the Prem. I don't think you're far off with that at all. Hate the guy. Good game anyway, Drogba and Kalou have both had chances. Set up for a decent 2nd half.
samingram_uk Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 Chelsea v Arsenal - There's 4 English players on the pitch... Disgusting.
Brainy Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 Nope dis-agree with that. The player should be punished, not his manager / captain. What would you do if you had five players mouthing the ref and the manager was already in the stands. Book the captain five times? Then the players would go unpunished. Either sin bin them or send them off. Sin bin works in rugby so why shouldn't it in football. It's time for zero tolerance. I'm getting to the stage where I don't care if the games are ruined, I hate to see it in football and it needs to stop. I think you missed the bit where I said the player showing dissent should also be booked. But what is the Captains job? Somebody has to take responsibility, if the player cant do it then its up to the Captain.
lildave3 Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 What kind of manager doesn't put players on the posts. Foolish.
davieG Posted 23 March 2008 Author Posted 23 March 2008 Great near post header, which year was the last one we scored a goal at the near post.
StroudFox Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 What kind of manager doesn't put players on the posts.Foolish. Leicester!!! Great near post header, which year was the last one we scored a goal at the near post. Think it was before I was born!
Thracian Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 Chelsea v Arsenal - There's 4 English players on the pitch... Disgusting. Came away after 20 minutes it was so boring. After the United game it was like watching clouds go by. Doubtless it will have livened up the moment I left the pub.

StroudFox Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 loving the little bit of hair sticking out Carvalho. Nice fashion statement!!
StroudFox Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 First half wasn't boring - end to end stuff I felt. The second half I felt was not quite as good. IMO. Having said that, the 2 goals were scored in the second half!
Thracian Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 You idiot Mascherano! Stupidest sending off ever! Absolutely. In a past military warfare situation he might well have been shot for desertion because that's what he did, he left his team-mates in it big time and surrendered the game on behalf of the club. His actions were incomprehensible and inexcusable. It's a wonder one of his team mates didn't chin him. This wasn't spur of the moment reaction, a moment of passionate anger in the heat of the game. Mascherano opted out. He'd have been able to reflect on exactly what he was about to do on his way towards the ref but he still went ahead and the reaction of his manager showed that he could see exactly what was going to happen but had no opportunity to do anything about it. I understand Andy Gray being inclined to give a players perspective on such events and most of the time he has a point. But not this time. The referee was left with little choice and Mascherano deserves everything he gets as a result.
