Maybes Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 Flaminis chance just then.Remind anyone of a certain DJ Campbell goal? Good call ched. I like.
Maybes Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 So how much has Maybes scooped? £45 return. Had United and Chelsea double @ 7/2 £10 stake. However before the game I did put £5 on the draw as a cover bet. So £30 profit. Yes.
Matt Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 Tried finding on YouTube, didn't really expect to tbh, but did anyone see it? The bit saying "You don't just win, Its a habit, No footballers happy or done his job until he is lying on the ground of battle...victorious" blah blah blah. Nothing to special but quite motivational, Something perhaps our players should watch and learn from. Wish I could find the clip to show people.

Simi Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 Who said that? Think it was just a trailer Sky played before the Arsenal game. Sounded like the guy who does all the film trailers.
Bert Posted 23 March 2008 Posted 23 March 2008 Anyone who thinks Gerrard should be England captain, after today, i hope that they'll be quiet now. A great player, yes. But where was he when Mascherano needed to be calmed down? Took him ages to get over there. When the players went over to Steve Bennett at half time, where was he to guide them away? Didn't show any captaincy skills.

True, but Mascherano didn't listen to Alonso so he may not have listened to Gerrard. Then, once he had been sent off and he was still having a pop at the referee, Gerrard tried to calm him down and was completely ignored. You are right tho, Gerrard shouldn't be captain, Terry should.

Oh and we all know the Terry is a paragon of virtue when it comes to referees. Fans see what they want to see and ignore the bits they don't like.

I never said he was, but is that a box that needs to be ticked for Capello? Go on, suggest one suitable candidate for England captain that has never complained about any decision?

Go on, suggest one suitable candidate for England captain that has never complained about any decision? Of course you are but when you slag him off as a potential England captain because he didn't stop one of his team mates from berating the ref and then suggest Terry as suitable who has a terrible reputation for the same thing it seems that logic has just flown out the window and replaced by prejudice. I've not got a strong opinion you obviously have the fact that there are so few around that haven't complained doesn't validate your statement.

I didn't suggest that Gerrard shouldn't be captain because he didn't stop one of his team mates from berating the ref, I never gave my reasons why.

My apologies - I felt like you were supporting his argument and suggesting Terry as a suitable alternative - my mistake.
Bert Posted 24 March 2008 Posted 24 March 2008 Also, I never suggested that terry should be England captain! Just that Gerrard showed of distinct lack of Leadership, which is a key aspect for a captain!
purpleronnie Posted 24 March 2008 Posted 24 March 2008 Who cares about who the captain is makes no difference italy dont give a shit who the captain is and they won the world cup.

Sparky Posted 24 March 2008 Posted 24 March 2008 Really enjoyed yesterdays games (won few quid but thats irrelevent) United will take some stopping now , im struggling to remember a player who has such an influence as Ronaldo , he is an absolute genius and surly by the time his career is over will be mentioned in the same breath as Pele Maradona etc. Arsenal seem to have ran out of steam , other than Adebayor and Fabregas you cant see where they are gonna score from. Chelsea are efficiant , not always pretty but take some beating and to turn that around yesterday proved they have Character , in Drogba even when he is not playing well he wont let centre halfs have it easy . And finally Liverpool , Benetez just aint got a clue about the premiership. In europe he is a great tactition but cannot transfer that to the domestic game. Chelsea /Man utd / Arsenal tend to play their strongest sides more often than not but old Rafa thinks its far better to makes 6 changes! Carragher has been 1 of the premierships best centre halfs in the last 5 years yet now Rafa wants to play him at right back to squeeze Skrtel in ! If a proven coach such as Mourinho went in at liverpool id fancy them to be champions within 3 years

If a proven coach such as Mourinho went in at liverpool id fancy them to be champions within 3 years I don't know whether your talking about yesterday's game, yes he scored, but he was poor yesterday - he's been criticised for not performing in the big games before. He's having a fantastic season though. The player with the biggest influence on Manchester United yesterday was Rooney, two assists, constantly on the ball and making things happen. In the Bergkamp mould but with more pace.
