davieG Posted 31 March 2008 Posted 31 March 2008 I agree that Holloway is a good manager and we should stick with him. When was the last time this club had any stability? Last time I can remember was when Micky Adams was in charge and even then we changed half the team every season. If you give Holloway a good few years then I'm sure he will build a team fit for challenging for this division. I think we have enough in the tank to stay up and what good would it do if we sacked Holloway? Didn't do us any good when we sacked Worthington, Martin Allen or Gary Megson. Ok Megson was debatable because most fans didn't like him but we didn't exactly storm up the table after we sacked any of those 3 managers did we?I'm not criticising City fans here because I understand why you get on the players backs or the managers back but ever since I was a young kid and my uncle used to take me down to the games I can remember City fans always having a go at the players and the team as a whole, even when we wasn't playing too badly. Nothing has changed really, I suppose it's a bit worse now because of the fact we are in danger of going down to League 1 and most fans still remember the glory days of 1997-2001 and that gives them even more incentive to give the team stick! But we need to back them even when they are playing badly, not going to do anybody any good when you are slating players or the manager, just going to make them even more on edge at home and that usually leads to mistakes that cost goals! Just to be pedantic neither Worthington or Megson were sacked.
andy_croydz Posted 31 March 2008 Posted 31 March 2008 Just to be pedantic neither Worthington or Megson were sacked. Yeh I know Worthington wasn't really sacked but he wasn't kept on either Plus I think Megson wasn't far from being sacked!
AoWW Posted 31 March 2008 Posted 31 March 2008 N Block next season - three foam-clad climbing stations and a giant ball pit Aw, yes please. Sounds much more fun than the football... count me in!
