davieG Posted 16 April 2008 Posted 16 April 2008 When I last had the misfortune to use a public toilet apart from it being disgustingly filthy it was clear to see that the current trend for filling the walls with homosexual images and crude comments was still going strong. It's shame because when I was a young lad the public loos provided virtually my whole sexual education as well being a source of excellent graphics including full size detailed drawings of the female form, extracts from the karma sutra, rich humour, poetry and limericks. I can't remember all of them but some of the written stuff that springs to mind is: The obvious and prolific 'Kilroy was here' (never did understand what that was about) The helpful Our aim is to keep these toilets clean your aim will help. The predictable 'The future of Britain is in your hands' along with 'Why look up ashamed to look down'. The Renowned Here I sit broken hearted Paid a penny And Only Farted The infamous In this shit house do not linger We're short of paper So use your finger If your finger is to small Then wipe your arse upon the wall Here! The Epitaph: When the shit house poet dies He will find erected in the Skies As a token of his wit A column made of solid shit

davieG Posted 17 April 2008 Author Posted 17 April 2008 This sentence is a slightly worrying insight into your youth. Nothing worrying about when you consider it was in the late 50's / early 60s when talk of sex anywhere was taboo, no top shelf magazines, no internet, no books, remember this is when Lady Chatterly's Lover was banned as obscene, no sex education at school, you relied on your mates and the quality of the information in the loos was excellent. Strange I know but there had to be an outlet to the country's sexual frustrations and this was it. They certainly weren't the haunt of Homosexuals they've since become.
