davieG Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 PETER TAYLOR will quit Stevenage today - just six months after taking over. The former England manager has been linked to Southampton since missing the play-offs. From The Sun Well Stevenage is another club he's fooked up as for Southampton being interested perhaps they need him to guarantee relegation, in which case I'm all for it.
act smiley Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 That would be an epically daft move by Saints. Luckily for them, its The Sun, so its pretty much guaranteed to be made up on the spot.
Corky Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 I feel sorry for any set of fans that has to suffer this arrogant, waste-of-space, "nothing's my fault" fool.
Mark Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 It's just meant to be, Peter Taylors coming back to finish off what he started.
Fat Ron Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 It's just meant to be, Peter Taylors coming back to finish off what he started. If there is any truth in it (which I doubt) then it wont happen until after Sunday. However, the press can continue to print such stories if it is going to have an adverse effect on the Saints, thier Players or Manager Taylor for Saints!!! Pearsons a nob, he's lost the changing room!!!
WetFlannel Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 Hopefully he gets the job. Before they play West Brom and Sheffield United that is.
lookwhaticando Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 Well, the bit about him leaving is true & confirmed. Stevenage Boro FC: Taylor to Go. Personally I don’t know if I’m disappointed or pleased about Taylor going That's hilarious, to be honest... you'd have thought someone who had previously worked at the top level, at international level and everywhere in between would be sought after by a non-league club. Yet apparently, he's viewed with indifference at best. Says it all really.

DB11 Posted 28 April 2008 Author Posted 28 April 2008 He's taken them from a promotion spot to missing out on the play offs hasn't he? It says on that article: Stevenage were in fourth position when previous manager Mark Stimson walked out on the club last October
lookwhaticando Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 He's taken them from a promotion spot to missing out on the play offs hasn't he? They were fourth when Stimson left. The promotion spot is 1st, then play-offs for 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th. Stevenage finished sixth, two points behind 5th place.
DBEightyFive Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 I thought after he left Crystal Palace, as part of his pay-off, Simon Jordan said he wasn't allowed to manage another football league club for a number of years
lookwhaticando Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 I thought after he left Crystal Palace, as part of his pay-off, Simon Jordan said he wasn't allowed to manage another football league club for a number of years If I were Jordan, I'd have put a clause in his contract which stated that he must absolutely work only for a rival team in the Championship. It's far better to have him wreaking havoc at your near rivals than have him doing dick all in the lower leagues, where you're unlikely to feel the benefit.
