moseeds Posted 4 May 2008 Posted 4 May 2008 ...All Leicester City fans, all top class presenters for BBC (Gary Linekar & Manish Bhasin) and Setanta Sports (Roann Ghosh), all local boys and all thoroughly upset. As was Super Steve Claridge on his show on Setanta Sports. Bit of pub trivia for you
moseeds Posted 5 May 2008 Author Posted 5 May 2008 What did Claridge have to say He didn't quite understand how a manager could lead a relatively wealthy club down another level. Considering the resources afforded to him Claridge was as flumoxed as th rest of us as to why we went down. He seemed to be hinting the problem was Holloway.
lefox Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Willie Thorne on the Beeb don't forget, wrong sport but on the beeb none the less.

We seem to be good at picking managers like that: McLintock, Taylor, now Holloway.
moseeds Posted 5 May 2008 Author Posted 5 May 2008 We seem to be good at picking managers like that: McLintock, Taylor, now Holloway. It seems like city is just a proving ground for managers learning the trade. Talk a big enough game and the job is yours
sdb Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 i felt like we'd really let down Cottee on SSN. he was really rooting for us...happily making himself look like a loser by associating himself with the club. What a legend.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 On 606 last week Claridge was saying how he hoped we would stay up I love our fans
clazkel Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 i felt like we'd really let down Cottee on SSN. he was really rooting for us...happily making himself look like a loser by associating himself with the club. What a legend. Why did Taylor get rid of Cottee? Was it becoz Cottee and Walsh had applied for the Leicester managers job so when Taylor got the job he got rid of them?
Corky Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Why did Taylor get rid of Cottee? Was it becoz Cottee and Walsh had applied for the Leicester managers job so when Taylor got the job he got rid of them? Probably, or Taylor was trying to make it his own squad, so they were told to go. Always had a lot of time for Cottee, came to us later in his career but gave everything and scored plenty of goals. Gets a great reception every time he covers us for Sky, especially at Southend in 2006/07.
Naboo Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Cottee would rather associate himself with West Ham I'm sure. Still looked a little upset for us mind.
act smiley Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Obviously if it was an either-or question he'd go with them, but he still shows more passion for the club than the players we've got at the moment have.
