Clem Looks To The Future

I thought he was harshly criticised tis season, too many people expected too much from him, which is why they slagged him off.

I agree with that, also when you look at some of the games where he has been harshly treated, you have to look at the team he was in. Some games he was meant to lead a midfield that consisted of himself, Darren Kenton, Bruno N'Gotty and James Chambers/Matty Fryatt, in such cases with him being the only recognised midfielder he was slagged off beyond belief.

He was also injured for alot of the season and was rushed back a few times out of desperation. I say give him a chance next season, don't get on his back from the first day of the season, at least he is staying and has openly stated that even though we have been relegated.

Two decent games and no 'Captaincy' on the field of play? I reserved critiscm of him until the season closed, but for my money he is one of the main culprits for our position. The man hid on the pitch at a time when we needed a vocal presence, someone to grab games by the throat.

I didn't expect him to be a ball wizard. I didn't expect him to net 20 goals.

I expected a captain ~ I don't think that is unreasonable.

Matt.

Give it a rest.

If he's good to his word, which i hope he is, he will do well in league One. I thought he was harshly criticised tis season, too many people expected too much from him, which is why they slagged him off.

What evidence is there to say he'd do well in League One? People said he'd do well in The Championship but he didn't.

So are you saying that we carry on making the same mistakes as last season or that there weren't mistakes, we were just unlucky?

We need a young, fast, attacking side with inspiring leadership. Simple as that.

How does the injury prone Clemence fit those needs?

If you want a bit of experience, compare him with Hume and look at the speed and energy he's got.

And the durability.

Save the wages I'd say. Let Clemence go back to the Premiership where some people still think he belongs.

I'd want more goals and drive from my central midfielders than Clemence now seems to offer.
