Daggers Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Clem Looks To The FuturePosted on: Mon 05 May 2008 Club Captain Stephen Clemence has vowed that the Foxes will bounce back after being relegated to the third tier of English football for the first time in their 124-year history. City battled out a goalless draw at Championship runners-up Stoke on Sunday afternoon, but a point proved not enough after Southampton defeated Sheffield United 3-2 at St Mary's Stadium. "The lads were magnificent today," said the City midfielder, who missed the Championship run-in through injury, "but unfortunately we have not played like that and shown that same level of performance and commitment on enough occasions this season. "We haven't got relegated to League One today, we've got relegated due to our inconsistencies over the last nine months. "It is a devastating day for this great football club and some of the boys were in the dressing room in tears after the game. "Everyone is devastated and I really do feel for the fans." City were backed by 2,000 travelling fans at the Britannia Stadium and Clemence paid tribute to them. He added: "Our support was terrific again and the sell-out crowd last week against Sheffield Wednesday just showed what a massive club this is. "They have travelled all over the country with us and made a noise wherever they've been and despite today, I know they'll be with us again next season. "As players we know we've let a lot of people down but that has made us all the more determined to come back fighting. "This is a very difficult day and we are just gutted." City management and players must now regroup over the close season and Clemence said: "As players we've got to take a good hard look at ourselves over the summer and we know we've got to bounce back, it's as simple as that. "There are lots of highs and lows in football and this is a massive blow for us but the biggest test is how we respond. "We can do nothing about relegation now and must look forward and focus on the job in hand."
Raj Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 He said to the reporter whils asking his agent to get himout of here. Thanks. SKIPPER!
Corky Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 "More determined to come back fighting"- Why the hell didn't you fight against Wednesday, because we wouldn't be in League 1 if you had!?
lavrentis Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 "More determined to come back fighting"- Why the hell didn't you fight against Wednesday, because we wouldn't be in League 1 if you had!? He wasn't playing.
dandannieldanok Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Bugger off Clemence, the worst captain this club has ever had anyone?
Daggers Posted 5 May 2008 Author Posted 5 May 2008 Two games. You only tried in two games. You only tried in two games. You only tried in two games. Worst ever Captain's season? It has to be up in the running at the very least.
Corky Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 He wasn't playing. I know he wasn't, but I assumed he was talking about all the players. Anyway, Clemence has let us down on occasions this season, and as he says, we didn't get relegated at Stoke, we got relegated due to the home defeats, and Southampton, Coventry and Qpr away.

Sheffield ****ing Wednesday! One nil and we ****ed it up.
Daggers Posted 5 May 2008 Author Posted 5 May 2008 He scored winner at Forest. He can be forgiven. And he ruled the midfield at home against Cov - but that doesn't stop him from having less value to me than the toilet paper I flush away after an enjoyable crap. I have zero respect for that man now.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 I wonder how JTB is going to cope next season. I doubt any Osama bin Laden lookalikes did well out of 9/11.

Always promising things, never takes place. He was our captain this season, a leader who should be firm and fire up his charges, but did he do that? Did he ****.

He was our captain this season, a leader who should be firm and fire up his charges, but did he do that? Did he ****. No he didn't. But he did say on the radio that he was going to stay next season and get us out of this mess. Maybe he should be given a second chance. On paper, the best CM in the division?
Corky Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 No he didn't. But he did say on the radio that he was going to stay next season and get us out of this mess.Maybe he should be given a second chance. On paper, the best CM in the division? I am pleased he wants to stay, on paper he probably is the best CM in the division, but he hasn't proved anything in a Leicester shirt. I find his words, at the moment, empty. If he helps us gain promotion next season I will forgive him.
Matt Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 "Clem looks to the future" - What with no job and his career over? Nah thats never gonna happen, In reality he'll be going somewhere nice on his holidays come back get straight onto the phone to his agent demand he gets his name banded about to other clubs and some poor club with poor hard-working fans will have to put up with him like the rest of the wasters that we've had to put up with this season. His career should be over, he shouldn't be able to find another job like the other players we have had here this season...And i'll be one of the first in line to end their careers...They don't deserve it.
Matt Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 No he didn't. But he did say on the radio that he was going to stay next season and get us out of this mess.Maybe he should be given a second chance. On paper, the best CM in the division? I think its fair to say "on paper" we have/had one of the best sides in the Championship, certainly not relegation candidates...Should they all be given a second chance? No. They can all fuk off.
Tevez Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 We're not going to pay his supposedly big wages off and i really can't see any club going for him. He's shite and I hope he goes.
Bert Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Matt. Give it a rest. If he's good to his word, which i hope he is, he will do well in league One. I thought he was harshly criticised tis season, too many people expected too much from him, which is why they slagged him off.

Legend_in_blue Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 I think he'll come good for us. Give him a second chance. He has something to prove to everyone. Fans. Manager. Club. Himself. He can do better. Go and prove it.

He hasn't produced too many Premier League performances though - or even Championship ones. I doubt he'll appear in a City shirt again. Any decent offer to take him off our payroll should be accpted.
