I remember watching this ages ago. wasnt bad i guess was cool singing along to the songs. The rest of it was a bit ermm, boring?
Jay Posted 26 May 2008 Posted 26 May 2008 I love the film!! I love Johnny Cash!! I thought Joaquin Phoenix was brilliant in the lead role the way he played Cash was almost perfect even down to the way he moves his mouth when he sings, if you watch actual footage of the San Quentin concerts you can see how well it was done. The man had a really f**ked up life the resentment of his father, the death of his brother, drugs, relationships and music until finally getting the women he loved from way back when. His life really was like a movie. This remains one of my favourite films and the records he did at the end of his career for American Recordings are some of the best albums around.
Durnerz Posted 26 May 2008 Posted 26 May 2008 I fell asleep twice through this film when I first watched it In fairness it is a decent film with some superb acting and catchy tracks.
