Daggers Posted 8 June 2008 Posted 8 June 2008 I am delighted that Moffat is taking over the reigns for the show, the two-parter that just finished was his work - and it was a spectacular piece of writing. My kids were the most scared they've ever been...and the "monster" was invisible. Brilliant! I love Dr Who!

I love Dr Who! moffat is taking over just as it goes for a prolong break? charming!! i have to say he's done some of my favourite episodes, like the lady n the fireplace episode, and, as with your kid, mine was scared stiff last night, watching with a cushion at the ready. who did the stone angel episode? i loved that one edit: lookng on wikipedia, he wrote press gang too 'kin genius he is....and he's from my maternal family homestead of paisley
Daggers Posted 8 June 2008 Author Posted 8 June 2008 who did the stone angel episode? i loved that one Pretty sure that was him too.
Daggers Posted 8 June 2008 Author Posted 8 June 2008 =================================== I just posted this in 'listening now' thread - well worth it if you've not seen this before... Bill Bailey ~ Doctor Qui? Davros - Il veut controlle le monde. Toujours il veut controlle le monde. Apres le petite dejeuner? Controlle le monde. A midi? Controlle le monde.
Hullfox Posted 8 June 2008 Posted 8 June 2008 Just watched last night's episode. That was absolute genius.
Milky Posted 8 June 2008 Posted 8 June 2008 Not one of the best for me, and yes i've seen them all since its return. Not even close.
Flynny Posted 8 June 2008 Posted 8 June 2008 Girl in the Fireplace remains the best episode that they've done, easily. In fact a lot of Moffat's writing in the series seems a bit constrained by the limits of the series itself. The last two episodes were pretty high-concept stuff dragged down some what by the time limit and the need to have Tennant shouting through gritted teeth for no apparant reason (and I actually think Tennant's proper good: the writing just was, or could have been, even better).

You have to remember who the real target audience are though. It's not for high brow intellects like you. It's for idiots and their kids.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 8 June 2008 Posted 8 June 2008 ok, Dr Who... I know it's written for kids, but I got it immediately. 4022 people saved... yeah, as in to a data file... got it. Vashta Nerada live in the forests - books are made from tree pulp... got it. Future Dr Who gave River his sonic screwdriver, probably to put right something that he knew was going to go very wrong... got it. And how long does it take the good Doctor (whom, I might add, is always going around telling people what a genius he is?) Two bloody episodes! Also, the episode a few weeks back where the Sontarans were going to take over the world with poisonous car fumes and Bernard Cribbins is trapped in his car and the Doctor can't get him out to escape the fumes. Erm, two words... house brick. Dr Who is a cretin!

craigadams22 Posted 9 June 2008 Posted 9 June 2008 Doctor Who is excellent, I'm sad to see Russell T Davis leaving Doctor Who after Five Season's. "But" let's hope Moffatt is just as good, I love the current series so far. You all missed Hinckley's Carnival yesterday, There was an excellent Doctor Who Float there with Full size Dalek's, Full size K-9's, A Tardis, Cybermen etc. The music was good, I gave them the Doctor Who music on CD's including the new Rocky Main Theme tune. It was a really "hot" day yesterday, We walked afterway me and my mum did then the Second Part we jumped into the Limo which I managed to get us for the Afternoon. My Favourite Doctor of all time is: Jon Pertwee from 1970 to 1974 (The Third Doctor) Kind Regards Craig Adams 23

I am now even sadder to discover that I missed the Hinkley carnival, it is a shame this was not advertised to the wider East and West Midlands community - although I feel parking may have been an issue had we all come. My favourite Doctor of all time is this one, he is far better than the jelly baby one who is my second favourite Doctor of all time.
