Anish Posted 2 April 2005 Posted 2 April 2005 What a terrific performance by him today. Showed a lot of composure on the ball and looked great going forward, his crossing was good too! I saw him after the game and he was using a pair of crutches, and had his angle strapped up quite heavily. So it looks like he's out of the Wolves game
Mark Posted 2 April 2005 Posted 2 April 2005 Hope it's not bad. He's exactly what we need, young, passion and enthuism, and a lot of ability to go with it I knew he was something special a few years ago when i first saw him in an academy game, amazing that he's come this far so quickly. We would never have saw him under Adams that's for sure. Craig Leveins blue and white armyyyyy

chambo_9 Posted 2 April 2005 Posted 2 April 2005 Rumour is he mite of broke a bone in his foot but am not to sure, hope its not true! But i think it was just a heavy knock.
Simey_ Posted 2 April 2005 Posted 2 April 2005 When Keown put himself on the transfer list, think the quote at the time was (Adams) 'yeah he's gonig because Stearmans coming through the ranks and he's not going to get a guarantied 1st team place'...

Craig Leveins blue and white armyyyyy 86672 Agreed, he has all of that but he was caught out of position on a couple of occasions and was weak against the likes of Dichio in the heading department. Great prospect but not the finished article.
Ash Posted 2 April 2005 Posted 2 April 2005 I hoping this is nothing serious , Stearman is a great talent and in all the game he's played in he has been amazing !
davieG Posted 2 April 2005 Posted 2 April 2005 Levein salutes Stearman Leicester manager Craig Levein paid tribute to Richard Stearman after he scored the opener in City's 3-1 win over Millwall and was then rushed to hospital with a damaged ankle and cheek-bone. The Leicester-born defender, still only 17, only got his chance because Nikos Dabizas was suspended, but he seized his moment after 15 minutes when he lashed the ball into the roof of the net from six yards for his first goal in only his third start for the club. Danny Dichio levelled for the visitors but David Connolly and Mark de Vries sealed a home win. Levein said: "Richard Stearman was one of our best players until he had to go off injured. "Not only did he score, but he was also playing out of position at full-back. He's been brought up to play in the centre of defence. "He's got a damaged ankle and what we think is a bruised cheekbone and, after he came off injured, he went straight to hospital for X-rays.
Simon Posted 2 April 2005 Posted 2 April 2005 On the post match conference Levein said it might be cruciate ankle ligaments (aswell as what you've said already). Hopefully the news will be good.
Chimp Posted 2 April 2005 Posted 2 April 2005 He looked very promising today, hope he recovers quickly. It was great the way the fans got behind him as well.
Jonbluefox9 Posted 2 April 2005 Posted 2 April 2005 On the post match conference Levein said it might be cruciate ankle ligaments (aswell as what you've said already). Hopefully the news will be good. That's what I heard/saw too. He'd gone to hospital for an x-ray on his ankle to see if he has ligament damage. I hope it isn't serious and I doubt it is because he seemed ok playing on for a while. Good game but as hullfox said, he still has plenty of things to improve on which makes him even more of a talent.
Louise Posted 2 April 2005 Posted 2 April 2005 Shame the Millwall players had to batter him black and blue...first a smack in the face the ref did nothing about, then he was taken out which the ref gave a free-kick for
Durnerz Posted 3 April 2005 Posted 3 April 2005 Superb performance, after his goal especially looked very confident in taking players on and getting crosses in. Shame about the injury and I hope its not serious.
step Posted 3 April 2005 Posted 3 April 2005 If he can take that battering and continue playing he will be ok
dynamite foxes Posted 3 April 2005 Posted 3 April 2005 Yeah I think he will be okay as he was walking and I don't think there is such a thing as a cruciate ankle ligament (cruciate is in the knee and you cannot walk if you do that and that is a career ender)
Alexikokopops Posted 3 April 2005 Posted 3 April 2005 Yeah I think he will be okay as he was walking and I don't think there is such a thing as a cruciate ankle ligament (cruciate is in the knee and you cannot walk if you do that and that is a career ender) 86828 Yeah, my mum did her crutiate ligament in and couldn't walk properly for like a year.
Jonbluefox9 Posted 3 April 2005 Posted 3 April 2005 I don't think there is such a thing as a cruciate ankle ligament (cruciate is in the knee and you cannot walk if you do that and that is a career ender) Levein didn't say he'd done his cruciate, he just said he may have damage to his ankle ligaments and some damage to his cheekbone. Didn't Wilcox do his cruciate? It didn't end his career and he's done it twice I think.
