Stig the Lawnmower Posted 24 June 2008 Posted 24 June 2008 do you remember the old Yates Wine Lodge near the Market? it was refurbished and renamed The Jetty, apparently the brewery wanted the name to have a local association, and the storey goes that the most popular choice was The Jitty, refering to the small passage alongside. the brewery didn't understand and thought they meant Jetty - thats why there was a pub in the centre of leicester with a sign depicting someone laoding a ship!!!!
