Head Honcho Posted 1 July 2008 Posted 1 July 2008 I'm starting to warm to Pearson and I'm also slightly embarrassed about dismissing him as soon as I heard he was our new manager He seems to be doing the right things at the moment although I'm not sure how much say he's had in the departures-not much I'd guess! Mandaric has now pocketed 4m plus (undisclosed ) with as yet no transfer fees paid out I just hope the majority isn't being put aside to compensate Pearson when he becomes persona non grata
James. Posted 1 July 2008 Posted 1 July 2008 I hope you're right Thrac. I just wonder why we are signing these unproven(at this level) 20 year olds when we've got unproven 20 year olds on the books already. The thought of relying on Worley and Morrison in defence worries me no end. I think the risk of signing unproven 20 year olds is less in League One than it is in the Championship. There's more room for error. And in any case I wouldn't necessarily call these players unproven as such. They all appear highly rated by the clubs they have come from and all, hopefully, have desire and hunger for further success. One thing positive about Leicester is that if you are a promising player it's the sort of club that would seem attractive (apart from the loony Chairman). New manager, new start, the chance to earn a reputation. I'm excited by it all.

I agree with you totally, its just the case of the players doing it on the field for him now
Joinesy77 Posted 1 July 2008 Posted 1 July 2008 Definitely positive signings. Hopefully they can produce on the pitch as well
NorthernFox Posted 1 July 2008 Posted 1 July 2008 I was unsure at work when I heard of these signings today but the majority are right; they are positions that need filling with the correct shaped pegs. And judging by the photos released Morrison is built like a BSH!

I wouldn't assume Worley's place is assured. Or that he's even got a long term future here under Pearson. Yes I know he's got a decent contract and first impressions suggest he's basically a cultured centre-back who's tall and quite capable in the air. But against that he still looks a novice to me. Yes, he coped okay against Stoke but that was a nailed-on stalemate with all the footballing drama taking place elsewhere. I watched Worley twice in the reserves and the guy looked naive on occasions and was to blame for two goals as I can recall. Okay it might have been newcomer nerves and no, I've not written him off. But nor have I seen anything that would put him anywhere near the top of my expectations for a centre-back. Morrison and A. N. Other seems most likely to me.

Worley back up to him? Could be OK for this div. Im pleased about the appiontment of Pearson. Seems highly professional and focused to the job in hand which is refreshing compared to the other dross (Allan).
