I dunno. I'm turned off.

Meanest of Times is wank and this will be an album tour, I imagine. Meaning they'll play most of it - and probably a lot of Warrior's Code, too. I saw them back when Blackout was fairly newish and they were great, played a lot of the pre-Sing Loud, Sing Proud stuff and it was one of the better gigs I've seen, but I dunno about now.

Tbh if I was rockin' a bit more benjamins I'd still be royally up for it, but given the tight budget I find the concept of the DKM largely uninspiring. Shame, 'cos I've been listening to the Live on St. Paddy's Day record a lot lately, good craic!

Rock your Benjamins down to Maidstone mate.

You know you want to.

got to agree with that have been a massive fan of the Murphys for years but Meanest of Times is a massive disappointment and contains nothing of what made me love the band in the first place.

I was expecting the first album on their own label to be brilliant but it seems they are running out of ideas

I just think they're maturing. It's only natural, really, Casey's hardly going to remain some hardcore punk youth his whole life. Bands just age, they start to lose their edge and they evolve.

I'm sure there are people that loved the Meanest of Times but couldn't bare to actually sit through Do or Die or the Gang's All Here. :dunno: Unfortunately I'm just not one of them.

I thought blackout was going to their maturing album developing a more traditional sound to a certain extent with more emphasis on structure etc but I just don't get The Meanest of Times it has it's moments but it's missing something I think I have only managed to listen through it all maybe once or twice I loved The Warriors Code and Green Fields of France although a cover is just brilliant but I am not sure they will ever get the brilliance of Finnegans wake, Boys on the Dock etc back again

I quite like Finnegan's Wake on that. It took me a while to get used to but it's quality.

Ned of the Hill is brilliant, though. My favourite Pogues' song to boot. I want to hear Gloatin' and Showboatin'. So badly, in fact, that I may try and find a torrent for it. (I know, I know. But I'll still buy it =P.)

I can sort it out for you ;)

will try and do it today but for some reason my computer doesn't like Zip files, or uploading so you might have to wait till Monday when I get back to work

I got it off mininova earlier mate, downloaded while I was at Hinckley. Set list looks a bit suspect but I'm a few songs in and it's sounding alright.

Can't believe they don't play Mad Riot live.

Went last night...fcuking cock-on! Missed the 1st support act (East End Baddoes). DKM were also supported by The Radio Dead Ones...really good enjoyed them.

Loved it when half the crowd piled on the stage for the last DKM song. Good night it was! The venue is much better than when I saw Senser there a couple of years ago, although service at the bar was shite....3 bars, 2 staff per bar!
