Tilley Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 I have been to Turkey and the turks have been very nice to me. Same, I've been Turkey the last two years, & they have been very very friendly towards me. But this was Marmaris & Gumbet, so both holiday resorts, & just wanted my Lire
lavrentis Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 He's talking in football terms Don't exactly have the greatest reputations do they? well everywhere has it's fair share of pricks
Shrenchel Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 I was only being semi serious about the turks, at the end of the day it's a very popular holiday destination.Argentina would worry me though. The Argentines I met at matches there were far friendlier than the moany bastards you get at Leicester games these days. I saw a bit of trouble at the Boca game I went to but it's easy enough to stay out of and I'd gladly endure a bit of seat throwing at the Walkers in exchange for an atmosphere anything like what they have there.
Floating Fox Posted 9 July 2008 Author Posted 9 July 2008 I'm seriously considering going to Germany if others are up for it. Me too. 30th August. Schalke Away.
Floating Fox Posted 9 July 2008 Author Posted 9 July 2008 No can do. Cheltenham Away. I'm so tempted to skip it. Tough call. I'm gonna wait to see how much it'll cost me to get there and compare.
syston_fox Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 No can do. Cheltenham Away. The post that andy made the other day about it being the same price to fly out and see a german game as it is to go to see a bog standard premiership one has got me thinking about giving it a shot too. Tempted by a big city so I can have a decent weekend away or something as well.... the only problem is that as with maybes, it can't clash with a City game. Maybe a mon-fri mini holiday when theres no mid-week game but one abroad could be a shout.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 Be warned if your going in the winter. Its fooking freezing in Berlin. Noted.
Darkzzz_ Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 I have experienced the Camp Nou on many occasions now as we make the effort to go at least once a year. The atmosphere is not great as mentioned, For atmosphere the best was the Milan derby. For fear, it was the Lazio v Roma 2004, when the game was abandoned in the second half because there was rumours that a young boy had been killed outside the ground, one of the ultra fans ran onto the pitch and informed Totti that if the game was not stopped then there would be more trouble. This was very intimidating! That is one very fierce and political derby. I would like to do the Sevilla Derby, I am thinking about it in the coming season.
