Proof, if any were needed, that having people sing and shout to generate an atmosphere doesn't necessarily mean that a riot will break out.
Tevez Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 I'm seriously considering going to Germany if others are up for it.
Shrenchel Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 Yeah. For the big games it's alright, but for the lesser games it's not that good.Allegedly. Don't hold me to this. I went to a pretty low profile game and I'd definitely disagree with that. Admittedly not as good as I've experiened in South America and other parts of Europe but shits on anything I've seen in England in the last 10 years. Have heard that the Nou Camp can be an absolute let down though.
Maybes Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 I'm seriously considering going to Germany if others are up for it. Me too. As for the spainish atmosphere. LD3 is right. Its similiar to England.

Shrenchel Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 How else am I supposed to prove what I know is true?! Get us some tickets on RyanAir to Madrid, take you down the Calderon for a match and then back to the hotel room for some gentle lovin?!?!

Exactly it depends where you go in Spain. Some are probably good and other shocking. It differs from club to club.
Joe. Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 The Nou Camp won't have a good atmosphere a) because they don't fill anywhere near full capacity for most league matches and b) there's a great deal of tourists who watch the matches there. And it's not like this all over Spain, there's clubs who will have fantastic atmospheres. I hear Atletico's is supposed to be very impressive.
Tilley Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 I have watched a match here. Malaga vs Valencia. Malaga won 2-0. Bloody fantastic.
purpleronnie Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 Watched a game at the Nou Camp it was a while ago (11 years to be exact) atmosphere was ok, but there was 90,000+ people inside. Was lucky enough to see 2 games at seville during 1998 and the atmosphere was superb better than anything I had experienced in the UK (Apart from Celtic v Rangers). I think Spain is suffering the same thing the Premiership is....success. With that brings corporate hospitatility, increases in ticket prices, clampdown on 'Traditional fans' or in spanish terms 'Ultras'. Other countires like here in the US want to attract as many fans as they can so they give fans incentives to attend and give them freedom also, in England the authorities and clubs can treat fans badly because its so popular that if some fans decide not to go then there are plenty of other fans waiting in the wings to take their place.
Manwell Pablo Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 My biggest dream in football watching is to go and see Boca at La Bombonera. It's unlikely it'll ever happen though. .......And I thought you were pretty mental for wanting to go and watch Turkish football
Manwell Pablo Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 Berlin is one of the places / stadiums I need to visit. Looks amazing. Be warned if your going in the winter. Its fooking freezing in Berlin.
lildave3 Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 .......And I thought you were pretty mental for wanting to go and watch Turkish football Why exactly?
Manwell Pablo Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 I have watched a match here. Malaga vs Valencia. Malaga won 2-0. Bloody fantastic. Yeah I've been there a few times folks used to have a place near Malaga.
Manwell Pablo Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 Why exactly? Becuase the Turks aren't very nice. The Argentines on the other hand are just plain dangerous! Sorry im one of these people who tend to stay away from places like South Africa, Argentina, Beirut, Iraq, etc.

Manwell Pablo Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 Stereotypical. Which ones, I hope your not trying to Beirut is only stereotypically dangerous?
lavrentis Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 Stereotypical. I have been to Turkey and the turks have been very nice to me.
lildave3 Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 Which ones, I hope your not trying to Beirut is only stereotypically dangerous? Turks/Argentinians.
Joe. Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 I have been to Turkey and the turks have been very nice to me. He's talking in football terms Don't exactly have the greatest reputations do they?
Manwell Pablo Posted 9 July 2008 Posted 9 July 2008 I have been to Turkey and the turks have been very nice to me. I was only being semi serious about the turks, at the end of the day it's a very popular holiday destination. Argentina would worry me though.
