Chairman of the Bored Posted 5 August 2008 Posted 5 August 2008 Just had my old scrapbooks out. A pie and pint to anyone who can guess which season these headlines come from and who were our opponents. Taken from the Leicester Mockery: "Fans on rampage in a night of Violence" "Anxious City Slump" "Defensive tactics earn both points" "So depressing" "Sad Albion no match for inventive City"
Chairman of the Bored Posted 5 August 2008 Author Posted 5 August 2008 87/88 I'll go for. Not even close!
Chairman of the Bored Posted 5 August 2008 Author Posted 5 August 2008 Season 89-90Opponents Brighton Nope. 5 different games.
Asha Posted 5 August 2008 Posted 5 August 2008 Nope. 5 different games. Will this be before I was born?
Fez of Mahrez Posted 5 August 2008 Posted 5 August 2008 72-73 I bet that's right then. I just looked through my big LCFC book and checked which season we spanked either West Brom or Brighton.
Sparky Posted 5 August 2008 Posted 5 August 2008 I bet that's right then. I just looked through my big LCFC book and checked which season we spanked either West Brom or Brighton. The only logic i used was that chairman of the bored has supported City since 1967 and 5 years down the line he may have had a scrapbook
Corky Posted 5 August 2008 Posted 5 August 2008 Just had my old scrapbooks out. A pie and pint to anyone who can guess which season these headlines come from and who were our opponents. Taken from the Leicester Mockery:"Fans on rampage in a night of Violence" "Anxious City Slump" "Defensive tactics earn both points" "So depressing" "Sad Albion no match for inventive City" My first thought was 1995/96, because we ripped West Brom apart at their place, depressing would have been Sheffield Utd at home, but the others don't fit, so I'm wrong with that. I'll go for 1974/75.
Chairman of the Bored Posted 5 August 2008 Author Posted 5 August 2008 The only logic i used was that chairman of the bored has supported City since 1967 and 5 years down the line he may have had a scrapbook That's the kind of logic that will earn you a lucrative career with the Portugese Police Force. Keep digging and you'll soon happen across the body. Just don't expect to find DNA any time soon. Nope.
act smiley Posted 5 August 2008 Posted 5 August 2008 Last season? (Bah, beaten to it by 60 seconds) (Forest away, all the time, Megson-era, all the time, away win?)
Chairman of the Bored Posted 5 August 2008 Author Posted 5 August 2008 Last season? We raped Albion. It was very depressing. Maybe? Nope. However, I did think the Baggies win was "consensual", I mean, they did invite us to shag them after Moore was given his marching orders!
Chairman of the Bored Posted 5 August 2008 Author Posted 5 August 2008 1971/72? Exactement. I shall be in O'Neills after the game on Saturday should you wish to claim your prize.
Corky Posted 5 August 2008 Posted 5 August 2008 Exactement.I shall be in O'Neills after the game on Saturday should you wish to claim your prize. What do I win? A night with Keeley Hazell will do fine
Asha Posted 5 August 2008 Posted 5 August 2008 What do I win? A night with Keeley Hazell will do fine Pie and pint. Probably.
Chairman of the Bored Posted 5 August 2008 Author Posted 5 August 2008 "Fans on rampage in a night of Violence" - We beat Forest 2-1 after what The Mockery desribed as "the battle of the Kop". 600 Forest fans invaded the Kop and mayhem ensued. One stabbing and more windows than you could throw a brick at were put through in Waterloo Street and Hastings Street. I think it was the following season when City reeked revenge with what can only be described as "assualt on Precinct City Ground." "Anxious City Slump" - This was a 0-1 defeat at home to Southampton. Mick Channon scoring the winner. "Defensive tactics earn both points" - This was a 2-1 win at Ipswich. "So depressing" - 0-0 at home to Palace. Drab as hell. "Sad Albion no match for inventive City" - A 1-0 win with Keith Weller scoroing the winner. Sheer class. On Sunday Soccer the following day with me behind the goal. This was the season we signed Weller, Birchenall and Sammels. Highs and lows but overall a good first season back in the top flight. It was also the season Ted Macdougall scored 9 goals against Margate in the FAC. And the only season I kept a scrapbook. Bless.

And yet the scum still claim they don't really hate us, only Derby. Fcuking liars...
