Wot, No Gradel! :o:nono::P

Funny, but listening to commentary, you rarely hear Hobbs' name mentioned! :mellow:

I don't know...Can get some power behind his shots.

Is true. Shame those shots are more suited to Rugby.

Agree with Hobbs' inclusion as he was solid as a rock and won everything on Sautrday. But Oakley? :frusty: Every one of his passes seemed to be wayward, and as for that chance he blazed over the bar in the last minute..... I gave him five out of ten for Saturday, and even that was probably a bit generous.

I actually thought Oakley played quite well on Saturday.

Can't pick fault with much he did apart from over hitting the attempt at the end.

He had a better overall game than King.

King just played better for the last 20 minutes.

It is hard to remember anything of great consequence that Oakley did - apart from missing one of the two best chances of the match.

I thought he did okay as an all-action midfielder in what was a goodish overall performance but there were two occasions when he tried to get forward and was caught lacking the pace to recover.

King was just as good as Oakley first half as the pair played a similar role. Just how well they functioned in terms of ball retrieving and retention was perhaps best emphasised by how much we dominated territorially, especially considering we were the visitors. But we showed very little up front and it was only second half when King, Dyer, Howard and Fryatt really started to pour forward that we looked like winning.

Oakley kept trying to get compliment King, no question, but he found it a struggle. How he got into any team of the week is a mystery. There were several contenders for our man of the match. I went for King because, apart from his generally solid performance, he played the pass of the match for Dyer's chance, another outstanding pass to Fryatt and forced their goalkeeper to make a notale save from his own good chance.

Furthermore he kept trying to attack the box at the end of a full game which said a lot for his improved stamina. Others made a perfectly understandable case for Howard, Fryatt and Hobbs with one or two also singing the praises of Dyer. But I don't recall a single City fan who attended the match touting for Oakley as MoM.
